Straight to Ale out of Huntsville, AL will be trade worthy by this time next year (already are but more well known). They are making killers beers right now and will be barreling/bottling alot of them this year.

Thread was TL/DR for me. We've got lots of new breweries here in Washington, and many of them are doing a great job. I'm a bit biased, I think Kulshan Brewing is going to do a great job for a long time. They opened in March '12, and were ranked in the top 30 of WA brewers in total production for the year, so plenty of other folks like their beer too.

I would tend to think of those two breweries, tasty as their brews are, not to be up-and-comers, but more as established and solid brewers.

Inside Washington, yes. I was responding more to the OP's question "[Who's] gonna be on the national beer 'map' in the near future?"

In Florida I would argue Funky Buddha. Previously they were only available at their lounge/bar in Boca Raton and people would travel from all over and go out of their way to try them. Now they are expanding and just opened a large production brewery and tap room in Oakland Park (suburb of Fort Lauderdale) and are sending kegs around to bars all over the state and plan to bottle within the next year. Up and coming and they are on the level of Cigar City in terms of quality in my opinion, and better than Swamp Head, although Swamp Head is a great brewery as well.

Tree House, for sure. Night Shift would be the easy answer, as they seem to be getting some media attention recently, but an incredibly crafted IPA trumps all. TH Julius all day.

I would say with how great all their beer is I'd be surprised if it wasn't sooner. Also good choice of extras.

NC (Where I used to live): It's been said again and again, but Wicked Weed. They have a ton of different styles on at any given time and they are all really good. Never been disappointed and it's a fun place to grab a drink and dinner. I always look forward to going there when I go back home.

OH (Where I currently live.): Tough to say, but I'm going with The Brew Kettle. Not all of the beer they make is great, but what they do well they do very well. Another option would be Jackie O's (which I hear only good stuff about and is finally expanding to NE Ohio soon) and Columbus.

There are a few I would like to name in Portland, but I get the feeling they mostly don't have a strong urge to expand. Seems to be a trend that more places are putting more focus on consistently putting out great beer instead of expanding. Just my 2 cents.

You could argue that they're not technically "up and coming," but my vote goes to Mother Earth, naturally. From day one, they've been doing awesome stuff with their barrel aged beers. Silent Night, Fig & Raisin, and Tripel Overhead are damn near world class to me, personally. Dark Cloud is definitive as far as the Dunkel style goes. All wonderful, hard working people. I'm definitely biased, but I'm just so stoked that they are single handedly responsible for the revitalization of Kinston, NC. I wouldn't be surprised if more craft breweries started migrating towards eastern NC!

Noteworthy mention: NoDa. Lots of good vibes coming from them, and I just feel it in my big ass gut that they're gonna be a big name in the coming years.

Also, I need to get my brown ass out to Asheville and finally try some Wicked Weed.

I had Citra Ass Down at The Tap in Bloomington. Reminds me somewhat of Zombie Dust for obvious reasons.

Daredevil is all over, let me know what you think when you have it again!
