    Seems like there's going to be a big hype around this years release of Blabaer as well...
    What have you traded for a bottle in the past/what would you trade for one of this years vintage?

    I have never traded anything crazy for blabaer. But I haven't traded for it in a while because it's pricey for not being the best cantillon, IMO.

    Haven't traded for it before, but it is on the top of my wants right now. Would probably do a BADL for it or maybe my Vanilla BADL for it, with an extra bottle thrown in on their end.

    I would trade limited-distribution sought-after Top 100 beers like Russian River Pliny the Elder and Russian River Supplication to get this done.

    I do have Russian River Temptation which is aged in the chardonnay barrels, but the other two I mentioned are higher on the Top 100 of Fame list. Further, I only have the Temptation left in 750 mL bottles. The Blabaer is only 375 mL, yes?

    Last year I traded 2012 Vanilla Bourbon DL for a 2012 375 Blabaer and 2005 375 St. Lam.

    Blabaer is a bit of an anomaly. ~300 bottles per year makes it rare, but not unobtainable. Really it's one of the more accessible Cantillon "rarities". Lots of people have this as their personal Belgian loon wale so it trades high. Usually for 2-3 bottles of highly rated American stuff or 1:1 on things like BADL's.

    At the same time, those that have tried it realize that it's not even the best of the loons that Jean releases annually (Fou Foune, St Lam, LP Kriek), so it really doesn't have the pull to land lots of the rarer Belgian lambics/gueze. It's been the most unmatched bottle in Cam's "Unwanted Whales" BIF's for a reason.

    After having both '11 and '12 Blabaer 750's over the past year I won't be seeking out this batch. Just cannot taste the rarity.
