If you're serious, can you point me to the source?

    If you're not, that's brilliant.

When is the last time it was released? It's still on their website as an occasional brew.

I think 2009 but don't quote me on it. I believe it's supposed to be every 3 years.

should not be retired, should be rotated. there is zero point in retiring and unretiring on a yearly or bi yearly basis. waste of time

Things are retired 1 year after the most recent release, unless we have written documentation that the brewery has stated the beer will be made again (press release, email from a brewery rep, interview, etc.). We don't generally retire/unretire if we know a new batch is in the works (a la Duck Duck Gooze and Dirty Horse, which Tomme and Urbain have respectively confirmed are ongoing projects).

I try to contact the breweries regarding higher-profile beers (i.e. stuff on the Top 250), but haven't had time to do so regarding CBS. If someone has an email from the brewery confirming a future batch I'll happily unretire it; word-of-mouth and hearsay need not apply.

And to confirm: AFAIK CBS has been brewed multiple times, but the last batch was the one put into bottles 18 months ago. Any kegs released since then are aged/cellared ones.

I, for one, could care less!!

I dreamed of this beer months before it hit shelves and could never land one!! In all seriousness, you can't miss what you never had!!

The last time I know of for a fact that they brewed CBS was last year, because when the first CBS keg kicked at the 15th Anniversary Party, they rolled out a freshly brewed keg. I'm assuming the kegs of CBS you see popping up at various festivals and events now are from that same batch.

Like I said - get official confirmation from the brewery and I'll happily unretire it. This falls into the hearsay category.

I think it's absurd to call a beer that's brewed once every 20 years an "ongoing project" but, hey, it's your site...

To be fair, the '1983' was first available in 2008, and the straight '2005' was first available in 2011. It's really not any less regular than Duck Duck Gooze or Alpine Great.

Technically we don't know that we're not Boltzman brains, but at some point you have to discard solipsism as impractical.

You are pretty wrong then. CBS has been being brewed for many years.
