Rye IPA's

    So I've had a few of these by different breweries and am really enjoying this take on the IPA style, but I was wondering what everone else considers the best that they've had.
    I've had:
    Widmer O'Ryely IPA
    Harpoon Rich & Dan's Rye IPA
    Saranac Rye IPA
    Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye
    For my $, Harpoon is far and away the best.

    Ruthless Rye was great, Founders Reds Rye PA is also a great one

    Wasn't too big on ruthless. Id agree founders reds rye is a winner. Sixpoint Righteous is very good also. If you can get your hands on it terrapin rye pale ale is good, but rye squared is even better.

    Hop rod rye would probably be my favorite out of what I've had. I enjoyed ruthless a lot as well, picked up quite a few sixers.

    great river makes one called Hop-A -Potamus it is outstanding in pint cans

    Oh geez, I forgot about Hop-Rod and Sixpoint. I'd just had both recently too! DUH!

    He'Brew Bittersweet Lenny's RIPA is amazing.. so is Founders Red's Rye PA.

    Arcadia Sky High Rye is another, not quite as good as Reds Rye.

    Harpoon's Rich and Dan's is great. In Boston my home bar had a tap for the current 100-Barrel Series (and a Leviathan tap). Sierra and Saranac rye are both fine but nowhere near as good. Hop Rod is a good medium and represents another amazing value bomber from Bear Republic. Had regular access to Racer 5 and Hop Rod in Boston and LA and both have been my staple after-work reward bottle.

    Big fan of rye beers. Hop Rod Rye is absolutely the best I've had. Scrumptious! The first sip never fails to amaze me.

    the leviathan rye is very good I forgot about it - was delicious on draft @ their brewery

    I love Bear Republic Hop-Rod Rye
    followed by Terrapin, then Ruthless Rye,
    I had Founder's Red's rye, but thought it wasn't as good as the others.
    I haven't tried Harpoon's yet, but I'll look for it now, thanks for the tip!

    I have had many and continuous seek them out. The best is Founders Red Rye. Surleyfest is my second and it is a lager. Summit's Rye IPA was awesome but it is gone and for some reason the brewery will not do it again. August Schell did an awesome rye bock but they will not brew that again either:rolling_eyes: .

    Alpine Nelson is miles ahead of any other Rye IPA I've tried
