Don't know if I've ever seen a thread dedicated specifically to this, so I figured I'd start one up. What kind of "beer traditions," if any, do you have? I only have two, and they're both pretty simple.

    1) Birthday beer: La Fin du Monde. The first beer I ever received as a gift (on my 21st). I've had one on my birthday every year since.

    2) Young's Double Chocolate Stout: I'll crack open one of the ~16 ounce bottles of it on the first snowfall each year. I'm not talking "oh hey, there's something in the sky" snowfall. I'm talking the first "hey, it's snowing! There's actually going to be snow on the ground in the morning!" Something about pairing that beer with that event just makes winter feel a little more official.

Nothing crazy. Nothing that requires a lot of hard work or breaking the bank to pull off. But things I look forward to each year. How about the rest of you?

Always "cheers". If its with the lady then a quick pair of kisses, but with anyone else it's two clinks of the glass.

Every November I buy a case of Sierra Nevada Celebration when it first becomes available. Been doing this annually since the late '90s.

When I make homebrew, I drink homebrew. When I bottle homebrew, I drink homebrew. Those are the rules since the 2nd homebrew.

Whenever I BBQ, I have a beer or two, maybe three, sometimes 4...or more. But, if I'm grilling, I must have beer at hand. I like this tradition.

Figgy Pudding every Thanksgiving. Disappointed they didn't bottle any this year, as I don't have any left in the cellar.

I have a weekly tradition of making a quick pit stop at the beer store for a $10 sixer... and leaving 45 minutes later, $100 lighter with multiple sixers and several bombers in tow.

I always get three things when I go beer shopping: 1 bomber of an $8-$10 bottle of an IPA or stout, 1 12oz of something new that I've never tried and 1 six pack of a session beer.

Oh man, how did I forget this one? Maybe I count it more as a "rule" than a tradition, but this is an important one for me as well. Is the grill fired up? Beer in hand. Same applies for if I'm making beer bread. One loaf requires two beers. One for me, one for the bread.
