    Granitbock Ice
New Eisbock Sunday for me fellow NBSers! Part of a gift box sent from ufmj! That guy is a true BA and I cant be more appreciative of his generosity.

Absolutely downpouring here in Sapulpa/Tulsa, OK. Just got back from walmart with the girlfriend and we remembered about 80% of the things we went to get (a usual happenstance), but we are still happy, healthy, and ready for a fun night!

Smell throws me off a bit. Similar to bourbon covered molasses dipped in a little soy sauce. Taste saves it though! Still bourbon and molasses, but the soy took a hike

    New CANned (Mostly) IPA Sunday
Quite the sans-Father's Day for me, having watched the USPGA Open at Merion on TV while notching a buncha beers onto The CANQuest (TM). I began with a Blonde
before segueing into the IPA stage of the day in earnest:
    things went dark, briefly
but then the sun came out
and I got underway on the Admiral's flagship
    before calling it a day.

Happy Father's Day & NBS to all...

Cloudy and a bit humid here on Long Island today, mid/upper 70's.

Both of my sons are living elsewhere but I spoke to them both on the phone today and received gifts/cards in the mail.

We went to a retirement party for my Miller Lite drinking bro-in-law last night, luckily one of my nephews brought 3 growlers of his homebrewed pale ale over. I'll admit to having a few bottles of Lite when the growlers were gone and I'll also admit to eating way too much food.

I'm just having one new beer today and it's a low abv beer from Samuel Adams...

Happy Fathers Day and New Beer Sunday!

Lemme put on some music for you ...

    Ah, now where was I?

Did the stint at my in-law's. Ate baked clams, hot dogs and heroes; sfogliatelle and cannoli for dessert. Brought three beers: Sculpin, Torpedo, and Bigfoot. Sculpin was awesome. Coulda gone with just a sixer of that. Ate too much :slight_frown:.

Nice day here on LI. Hazy, but mild, warm, not too humid but not dry either. Island living

I've had two stouts from Perennial Artisan Ales (Fantastic Voyage (a coconut stout) and 17 (a mint chocolate stout)), and they were pretty good.

    Today, their Belgian pale, Aria.

    Fermented with brettanomyces.

I gave it a cautious pour into my tulip, lest it "go Duvel" on me - I presumed some sediment, too, which I will leave in the glass with this type of beer - at least on the first pour.
Didn't yield much head at all.
Darker and more orange than I anticipated.

Reminded me of Piraat at times, with its color and on some flavor points; and tripels in general, with its lush pale/orchard fruit character. But I didn't get the brett - I honestly expected a pale ale more akin to Anchorage Brewing's Bitter Monk or an Orval (although I never expected it to be as good as Orval ).
    Second pour more aggressive.

This was sweet and not really funky at all. I could see people expecting a dry, brett-funky pale Belgian-style ale being thrown off, but I love tripels and lush Belgian-esque beers, so this was a pleasant surprise.

    Cheers!

    New Virginia Pale Ale

Greetings to the padres and all other NBS samplers,

Another late check in for me from pleasant Southern, CT. We spent the weekend with the fam I town frm VA and NC. Good times. Somehow my Dad brought me this NB for S from Virginia. A nice brew and I would like to try more from this brewery.

    Greetings, fellow NBSers,

My hat's off to anyone that has kids, but should anyone claim to be my offspring, they really need another, more lucrative hobby.

After getting home from work on a perfect day, weather wise, after filling in for someone else and calling up the old man, I decided to pour myself a Black IPA from Oakshire, brewed in the land known as Oregon:

Pretty tasty stuff, though I note that not many have liked this beer as much as me.
Oh, well. That means I can drink everyone else's portion!
