Cindy signed up for the Shelf Turd Olympics BIF back in April. It was made clear that all boxes were to be out by May 31st at the latest. The deadline has come and past with no communication from her since June 2nd when she received her box. I waited a week after the deadline for the box to land and nothing happened. At that point I started trying to get in touch with her through beer mails, emails, and left voice mails. In every message I sent, it was stated that if I didn't hear back from her by the end of today with a tracking #, I was gonna start this thread.

Unfortunate news again. What the hell is wrong with people? Just ship the beer you agreed to ship when you signed up for the BIF, or negotiated in a trade. This shit is getting real old.

Comments like this one, which comes across like a call to violence, against a woman none the less, serve no purpose. This is the type of remark that will get this thread deleted for no reason. It also makes whoever types it look bad.

So I ask everyone to leave the unnecessary stuff in your head so I can hopefully get this issue resolved.
    Thank you.

Hmm - you don't often see bad traders who publicly post their twitter on their profile page. Her twitter also went from extremely active to not a single tweet for a full week now. Odd...

I notice she has no trading history...or did that 'disappear?'

Sorry, had a little bit to drink. In no way promoting violence on anyone or gender for that matter. On another note, after looking through her untappd and twitter it is very strange that someone completely drops off the grid like that. But she received her box on the 2nd and clearly was active for a whole week after that and still avoided you.

Op has her name and address. Maybe you could make some calls to local law enforcement.

This would serve no purpose. She was illegally shipped alcohol, and unless the sender has photographs of the barcodes on the bottles next to the receipts of the purchases, and can prove that she physically took the beer from him in person, then there's nothing they could, or would even consider, doing about the situation.

Traders don't seem to understand that what we do is technically illegal, and that there is inherent risk involved in shipping beer to people you don't know. You have to understand the risk of complete loss, and hope that both the Beer Community and Beer Karma will take care of the rest where it is possible, and to learn from your mistakes. If you are someone who would suggest physical violence or legal action if you're screwed out of some beer, then you should only trade with people you have met in person, and whom you trust inherently. If you are willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, it is your choice to take that risk, and often times it rewards you highly, and sometimes you get burned.

I could be wrong, but I took that last statement as more of a missing person's type report, not trying to call the police to get the box back.

I did, too. I just hope everything's OK with everyone involved. I also find a total grid drop-off a bit bizarre and extreme just to screw somebody out of beer.

Still applies. Do you think the cops would take some rando internet beer nerds seriously if they said "Hey, we sent this lady beer, but she never sent any back, and we haven't seen her on Twitter recently. Mind sending a patrol over to her house so she can avoid being put on the Bad Traders list?"

I mean, if one of use from BA were to call and report her missing, and she actually IS missing, who do you think becomes suspect #1?

That's right, the one with a motive.

I was going to reach out to her on untappd, but she's been inactive there too, (and others have already tried). send me her targets address and the rules of the bif and I'll get a box out in the next few weeks.

Yes, don't ever look into a missing person as you may become a suspect. :astonished:

You don't have to have a patrol officer go to her house. You could start by looking to see if she is in jail or a hospital. It's just a little odd that she would just stop tweeting and using untappd all of a sudden after using it everyday for quite a while. I mean she could just be on vacation.
