Yes! Will you sell bottles of Ol Oi and Experimental Sour for off-site consumption?

Have you considered offering a flight, maybe 2 oz, of say 5 or 6 beers for around $10? That way people could still taste a majority of your beers and then decide after that what beer they want to order more of. I know this would appeal to people like my wife that aren't really familiar with your beer but would still like to sample everything and decide what they want more of and still feel like they haven't spent a lot of money.

Oh wow, the times are most certainly changing.

I'm just glad for bigger pours.

Jeff you should still add some form of touring option to allow out of towners or newbies be able to try a wide variety of styles without having to break the bank.

    Cheers

    Congratulations, Jeff!

Stoked for full pours and more limited beers available.

I also personally don't mind paying a bit more for better selection of JK beers, bigger pours, expanded hours (eventually), and hopefully shorter lines in the main taproom.

After reading the full article, I realized I am a huge asshole, and that this is awesome and very exciting for the future of the brewery.

I, for one, like the new menu. It lets me put more money toward the stuff I really want to drink, and allows me to be able to spend a day there and drink to suit my mood.

Sure, it's a bit more expensive than it was- but the prices are still reasonable.

And put my name in the slot marked "flights=good" as well. A build-your-own 6-beer flight for $12 or $13 would be amazing.

I think a flight option is crucial to continue exposing new people to the lineup. If you ever visit breweries in other states they tend to offer 1 or 2 oz tasters at a reasonable price or a build your own flight option.

I am looking forward to the new setup.

Really excited this is happening! People are initially going to think the prices are high, but us in Texas have always dealt with the tour, free glass, and taste beer. It is going to be a shock to some, but better overall. With the way it is now, Jester King and other breweries will be able to make much more on their beers and put more money back into expanding, facilities, etc. Exciting times ahead for Texas breweries!

Oh, I think there will be a lot of pushback initially from people initially.

I'm particularly interested to see how Stanley's works into their plans.

The biggest loss here is guest taps... I was consistently amazed at some of those beers. I think we (and the brewery) are gaining more than we'll lose, however.

Guest taps can be made available at Stanleys maybe?

Thanks for the supportive words and feedback. I'll definitely keep in mind what you wrote about sample flights. We're going to build a better bar before expanding our hours this fall. So I could see that being something we add to our menu.

    Uh, no.

There will be guest taps there (heck, there are now)... but they're not going to be able to sell most of those guest beers that were available for reasons I won't get into here, lol.

Just wanted to add that I am not trying to sound negative about the new changes at Jester King, I personally think it's great that next time I go I can try some of the beers that are hard to get. Being able to sell bottles for off site consumption is another great addition, though not for my wallet. My suggestion about having flights was based on the fact I just went to JK for the first time Saturday and my wife and I really enjoyed getting to sample a bunch of different beers for a good price. My wife's family will be in town in September and we plan on going back to JK and I think they would find the flight option as an appealing choice and a good starter for those that have never had JK.

Stanley's will continue to pour beer from other breweries besides Jester King. Unfortunately, Stanley's or any other Texas bar for that matter, will not be able to pour the guest beers we brought in from Shelton Brothers for our Saturday tastings. Those beers aren't licensed for sale in Texas, so they could only be given away for free.
