Just get there early and have fun. Avery does it right by tapping some great beers on their release days so you're not just standing in line, you're tasting some great beers that they don't bottle.

You could easily get back it line. Nice bottle going around to share. Props to Josh who opened a bottle to share and it was very tasty.

Got to say, I walked in the door after the release and the kids had appetizers ready for me as well as a glass of beer. They are now making the rest of dinner while I type this, drink a glass of Avery and eat some panko crusted baked zucchini.

I walked up at 430 to zero line and bought a case. They had at least a pallet left over so I would expect limited distribution.

Interesting. I bought a case around 5PM and was told that they are definitely not distributing this release. I'm unsure about how many cases they had left. A buddy told me that about 130 people lined up.

Had a bottle last night. This is a very worthy release in the series - a great wine/beer hybrid that tastes almost like champagne.

Hey all - I have extras of this release that I'm looking to trade for. If interested, shoot me a message and we'll work something out.

Agree about the chardonnay character of this beer. Quite a contrast from last weekend's release, huh?

What do you do with an extra palette if not distribute it? And if not sold after release day? Certainly they aren't going to sit on that much beer.

If people were walking up from 4:30 and 5 (the times those two said they picked up beer) and buying a case each I'm pretty sure that is a good chunk of a pallet.

    Andy-

Can you speak to the number of cases left and confirm or deny the distribution question?

It looks like some of it will go into distribution... I don't know an exact number, but probably around 40-50 cases, and I bet that it will all go to Colorado. The rest will go to Adam's cellar and to our sales staff for events.

Grape/beer hybrids are a pretty fascinating and poorly understood thing (even by those of us who have made a few), so it's really difficult for us to predict how many people will rush in to get some at the release. Especially when it's not a sour beer. I actually can't wait to start pairing Melange with all sorts o' food. I think that Muscat d'Amour really shines when paired with the right meals, and Melange should be even more versatile.

Now if only it was dinnertime...

Well, assuming everything goes as planned, we're looking at an Uncle Jacob's release in early July (I'd guess on the first or second Sunday).

Then Thensaurum (sour ale aged in rum barrels) looks like August. At least that's the hope. And then Rumpkin in September. After that, the Magic 8-Ball keeps telling me to Ask Again Later.
