I always hear that the real reason you aren't supposed to pour Heady into a glass is because it is a horrible looking beer ( I've never had it). Well, the same can be said of Jai Alai.....so many floaties that just makes it look bad when poured.

What are the worst looking beers?

    Rochefort 10

I LOVED the beer ... never thought I'd like quads, but that damn Rochefort 10 is so good it could end up costing me a lot of money down the road. It's awesome. And it's uglier than ugly.

I am not trying to be a "hate on macros at all costs" guy, but honestly, Bud Light looks really bad.

Many quality craft styles like Wit or Kolsch carry a light color too, but they all have a bit more depth to their appearance than the above.

Was going to throw this in there as well. Agree 100%, so delicious but ugly.

Pretty much any oud bruin...many pour without a head and they have that swampy appearance that only a catfish could love. But I'll be damned if I don't enjoy them. Quads, too.

I think my beer looks pretty sad when it gets down to the last two ounces or so

New brewery out here in Oregon called De Garde. Doing some really great wild beers. The made a berliner called Bu Weisse. It was delicious, but god was it ugly. Terribly hazy. Looked like a yeast bomb but tasted nothing like yeast. They are going to release a second batch so we'll see how that looks. The cranberry version however was a wonderful ruby red. If you get a chance check these guy out.

Dude, did you barf into your glass first?

I'm drinking a Jai Alai as we speak, and have them all the time (I'm minutes from the brewery... yes, I know, I fucking suck).... never had any floaties.

What's the date on your Jai Alai? [IMG]

    100% this.

I downed my first Roch 10 the other night, and I thought it was absolutely fantastic. HOWEVER, as I drank more and more of it, I could see more and more floaties, all over the damn place. Started to actually turn me off to it, it looked so bad.

But a heavenly beer, that's for sure.

Heady looks terrible, just an awful amount of crap floating in it.

I am a huge fan of jai-alai and have 3 cases currently in my fridge, but I have had occasional cans with floaties as well. I don't always get them, but last time I did, the beer was 5 days old. Odd.

The date was 5/4/13....picked up two Sixers while in Orlando last month. Huge floaties...not just unfiltered haze. Small chunks of sediment.

oh my yes, Rochefort 10 is delicious! Also, if you can pick it up while in Belgium with your buddies you get a better price.

come on, it's not all that ugly. I kinda like to see what I'm drinking, even if it's floaties.

There was a thread a couple weeks ago about Jai Alai appearance. Seems to be pieces of hops. Doesn't affect taste, doesn't change with age and doesn't appear to be batch-dependent. It seems to be more of where the beer in your particular cans came out of a particular batch.
