Why do you drink beer?

I didn't know you pursued any beer other than Stone RIS and Espresso RIS.

I drink beer for the flavor and relaxation.

Depends on the day of the week I suppose. To enjoy something new, to test out my palate, to relax, to socialize, to impress other people and introduce them to something new, for nostalgia, because I'm thirsty, etc.

 

It's great while at a baseball game. It's great while on the patio. It's great while watching the sun set. It's great while sitting at the pool. It's great while sitting in a dingy dive bar. It's great while you are at your mother in laws. It's great while studying for a midterm. It's great while watching the Stanley Cup. It's great while sitting at the beach. It's great while sitting at home and watching TV. It's great while doing yard work. Its great while doing nothing. It's great while watching curling. It's great while eating a burrito. It's great while pretending to hear your girlfriend talk about her day. It's great while unwinding after a long day of work. It's great while hiking. It's great while taking a shower. It's great while working on your car. It's great while cooking dinner. It's great while feeding the cat. It's great while reading a book. It's great while touching up your roots (I can only assume). It's great while in the jacuzzi. It's great while looking at the stars. It's great while booking a trip to try beer that you haven't had before. It's great while tuning the piano. It's great while brushing your teeth, um, scratch that last one.

 

I drink therefore I am.

 

I drink because: I enjoy the taste of beers I like, I want to experience new styles of beers in the hope I will like them as well, getting a good buzz is in my opinion relaxing and fun.

Prolly wouldn't drink beer if it had no alcohol.

 

To me, the first reason is that I like it.

But more so than that is the fascination I have with the history of it all. I see, in beer, a direct reflection of the human spirit. The creation of a remarkable device of survival that then became a way in which to express our ultimate creativity and beauty. This idea is reflected in so many things within our world, and beer is just another continuation of that.

Oh....and it gets you drunk.

Two reasons: relaxation and socialization. Nothing like a nice beer after work or discussing and sharing new beers with your friends.

I also love travelling to different breweries when I'm in a town I've never been to. It's a good reason to see different parts of the city you're visiting and a good way to interact with the locals.

I've always been a collector, so finding new things to try (AKA "that elusive beer") plays into that part of my psyche as well.

 

I drink cuz it looks cool. I'm a real kick-ass looking dude with a Pliney in my hand.

 

It's as simple as this...

It tastes good.

 

Because I like it. Does not need to be any more complicated than that.

 

The variety and the palate is fantastic. So many styles. It's fun to try every kind from all over the country and the world. Pairing it with food is also fun. And it can be as elegant or as down to earth as you want. It's delicious and I can have as much or as little alcohol as I want. There's no chocolate wine.

 

Because I enjoy it.

 

You would look way more kick-ass with a Pliny in your hand.

 

I don't really like getting drunk, but I love the buzz. The unique flavor profiles is where it's at for me. And the occasional whale hunt!

 

I'd have to go with it being a social lubricant as my answer. Loving the taste is just an awesome bonus.
