Why do you drink beer?

Lube is good

 

The only beverages I consume are water and booze. No pop, koolaid, or anything or the sort. I 100% enjoy the taste, but its definitely to socialize and get drunk.

 

Why not?

 

Because I'm married.

 

Love the taste of beer, especially terrific beer. The buzz, when it comes, is nice, too. Something about the first taste of a fresh cold beer makes the entire body and mind relax. It's nirvana, really.

 

I drink beer because it tastes good and helps me relax. I actually don't really care for most other beverages other than milk and water, so really I don't have many choices, now do I? I'm basically forced to drink beer. Not that I mind.

See how I rationalize that?

 

Because my life is terrible

 

Taste and aroma, first and foremost. But I also love the 'ride' I get from a really enjoyable beer- how it develops in the glass, or over a series of glasses, how it relates to regional versions of its style, or even how it varies, discovering its distinct personality, sometimes even the technical/craftsmanship elements- all of that stuff and more. The buzz is nice, too.

 

The people, for the most part. Craft beer's introduced me to some of the nicest, most down to earth people I've met. I rarely drink solo. I've found the majority of my enjoyment of beer stems from the time it allows me to spend with some of my best friends. The beer's really just the catalyst...and a bonus. That said, I enjoy what America's craft brewers have done wiith beer. They find new and inventive ways to arrive at a finished product nearly every day. It's to the point where a beer's style doesn't even matter. They bend the boundaries between one and another so frequently, it doesn't even matter what you call it. Stuff evolves every day, and it constantly provides you with something new and exciting that you've not experienced before, or often conceived as even being possible.

 

Of course it is. After all, you are Canadian.

 

So I can pwn beer noobs

 

Because consuming other whales is illegal

 

Because I honestly enjoy it.

 

No, I do all those other things too. At the same time.

 

It tastes good. Very good. Varying levels of intoxication are a bonus.

 

No Milk? OJ? Yoo-hoo? Riunite on ice?

 

Inside a glass of well brewed beer lies the secrets of civilization. Beer, moreso than any other beverage, connects my humanity with my ancestry. It is a truly powerful thing to fully enjoy a complex brew, and try to decipher how the brewer activated all of the flavors and nuances. Catching a smooth buzz from a session ale after a hard day's work in the summer heat is beyond gratifying. But, most of all, I drink beer because it is just plain good.

 

To get a buzz and also because drinking craft beer is cool and makes me seem cooler. Also I like collecting rare things.

 

I guess the flippant answer is, "To make the people around me more interesting." However, my answer is that I enjoy and appreciate the flavor and complexity of a good beer. I also enjoy trying a beer I may not have experienced before, but others have enjoyed. Sometimes, I agree, and sometimes I don't. In either event, I continue to drink what pleasures me, and search for more.

 

Because I always have and also because I don't drink milk or soda.
