A week away till Beachwood's LB 2nd Anniversary at their brewery location. Unlike most brewery's celebrating their annual anniversary, it's really nice that they open this for all to come and enjoy without any event $$$'s. Come one, come all and enjoy a glass or three and eat and be merry at one of LA's best brewery's. This is how most events should be. No fees. No hassle.

Have tickets to the Dodger's game that night, so I may have to swing by for a few before heading to the ballpark. Had an absolute blast last year and between the beachwood beers and the guest beers it was one epic taplist. I'm a total beachwood fanboy and love supporting their buisness in anyway I can. Living in seal beach the last few years have been a great experience and to have a local spot like beachwood less than a ten minute walk for me has been a beer geek's dream come true.

Anyone know if they will do flights of all the beers per usual?

No one is doing it like Beachwood right now. Class act from top to bottom, they really care about their customers more than any other brewery/dining establishment. I cant wait for this event, should be a blast.

    Cheers,

After lunch and beers at Beachwood LB you can head over to Golden Road Brewery right next to Dodger stadium and have some sub par beers before hitting the parking lot. Or more recently they have improved on their beers. I have yet to taste the new and improved beers. A growler of BW beer would be better but no more tailgating in the Dodger lot.

It's true. When they got rid of John and got the Drakes fella, he pretty much started from scratch on a couple of brews. Wolf among weeds was an entirely new recipe and is worth a damn now. Even point the way got an ABV bump and is a much better beer. Some costcos even have them in four packs for around $6.40, which isn't bad at all for their stuff.

The line up is also expanding, so they got a few more test beers going. The Big Lebowski named stout was also tasty russian imperial stout.

No, I totally understand the changes that took place at Golden Road (dat Berliner, mmmmm), I just don't understand trash talking a brewery that's proactively turning its product around, especially having not tried any of the new product. It's unfortunate that so much of the old stuff is still sitting on shelves, but Golden Road has a pretty lax growler fill policy which I'm a huge fan of.

Similarly, I was initially unimpressed with Noble the first time I visited and look at them now.

No, not trash talking down Golden Road. Just saying I've tried their beers when it first came out in cans which I was not impressed at the time. I gave them a second try when I drove to the brewery one day to try their beers and food. Beers-not, food-good. A really nice brewery. But still was not impressed by their beers. I then heard about the changes in the brewmaster. I have not tried the new batch yet. And I am going to just haven't gotten around to it. I read that their newest ipa in cans Heal the Bay IPA is good. I have yet to seen this one in any stores. I guess it came out during the Firestone Walker invitational this year.

Like you RedBeeron I was unimpressed by Noble when they first came out. But now I like their Big Whig, Nobility and Royality. Their Naughty Sauce was killer!! I'm actually going to stop by Noble today for the Nobility.

Grab a pour of 6th dip to get an idea as to what they're doing with their barrel program. Tapped it last night, I'll actually be by this evening to grab some.
