never traded before but i have some decent stuff and am looking for things i haven't tried. how exactly does this whole thing work? I really only have one rare beer (TG Kentucky Brunch x2...also have 4 pseudosue bombers left and also surly furious x8) but i have access to a bunch of other stuff. Live on iowa/ill border so have access to a pretty good distribution of different beers, and am only 2.5 hours from 3floyds and new glarus so those are easy day trips to get trade material (. what i would like to do is get rid of one bottle of KB and some other stuff for a quantity. don't care if i get back anything incredibly rare, but would like some good stuff and some glassware (yep, i'm weird but i almost like that stuff as much as the beer). something like heady, some HF stuff, Lawson's, etc (are the things that come to mind). can anyone give me some guidance on what i have is worth? this may sound ridiculous but how do i pack stuff? Help a newbie..please!
haha! very nice! yes my inbox WAS empty, but apparently Kentucky Brunch brings people out of the woodwork. I knew from reading some stuff on here that it is wanted, but holy crap! thanks for the initial help, it really is much appreciated. reading the blog right now.
Sigh...this is sad. Way to help a noob, "squeeze as much as you can out of someone". I guess that is the new "advocacy".
I don't have the stuff you're looking for, but if you would like to do other locals for locals, let me know... I can get fresh growlers etc. I don't really know what that KBBS is, so if you want to trade your other local things, and especially if you're willing to hit breweries for growlers, I'll help you out. Also, once you get over the 'fear' of shipping a growler, it's really easy......
Was out of the country till now, so I didn't see this. So I think you misunderstood my post. I interpreted his question as wanting to trade off a bottle of something he has an extra bottle of to get a bunch of new beers he can't get and would like to try (he specifically mentions quantity in his OP, and says he isn't necessarily looking for rare beer, just good beer and glassware, which is the wording I used). I'm not at all advocating that he ask for "Rare+KH+CCK+wales bro" that some other people have asked for their KBBS, but I wouldn't want to be shortchanged if I were in his position by trading it away for a 4-pack of Heady Topper (though who am I to judge anyone if this happens), if that makes sense. Get a good variety, a good quantity of good beer and get started on exploring the world of craft beer. Not exploring SeaWorld. Anyways, I think that a good Beer Advocate would take whatever they agree upon, and then proceed to destroy his porch to properly introduce him to the world of craft beer.
