Just had the opportunity to try PseudoSue for the first time and was blown away. So good that I would say its better than zombie dust but seems more difficult to get. Anyone feel like voicing their opinions?

As a man with both in my fridge.... I could not agree more, as my reviews state. PseudoSue is fresher tasting and has more hop flavor with less bitterness. ZD is great but just does not stand up on the pedestal people put it on. I have had ZD 1 day old and PseudoSue 4 days old so freshness has not altered my opinion. To be fair I think NG Moon Man is way better then both but that is not a citra pale, so not a fair comparison. Also prefer Ale Asylum Bedlam, which is a Citra beer to both of these.

Also you should make this a poll while you still have time if you do!

Even if Pseudo Sue is marginally better than Zombie Dust (I don't think it is), price point and availability will always point favor in the direction of ZD.

    How so?

It's distributed in Iowa and Wisconsin. Is it always on the shelves or on tap? No, but how long would Zombie Dust sit around in Chicago? Casanova's in Hudson has this available for growler fills at $9.99, and it has been on tap quite frequently as of late. So I pay a dollar more after taxes and get 8 less ounces, but I don't have to drive an absurd amount for beer. Short of living within 20 miles of FFF, you aren't paying any less for ZD.

As for PS, I was extremely impressed by how much citrus the beer gave off. I was enjoying a pint while visiting with family and had a comment on how they could smell grapefruit without even bringing their nose near the glass. And this was from someone who doesn't drink beer.

I think we both do a great job with the Citra hop. I love to grab some fresh ZD and just open the hatch and relax to a giant smile!

Just watch as our footprint grows. One thing I have learned in my love of beer is I never run out of room on the top shelf!

Cheers to you all, 3F (who we are honored to be compared too), and beer!

I'm also in the pseudoSue > Zombie Dust camp. No homerism either. They are both great beers and I love them both, but Sue wins pretty easily for me.

See you tomorrow at ICBF, Clark!

The moment I tried Zombie Dust I was sort of disappointed, not in the actual beer itself but rather that the idea I had built up in my head about it wasn't true. I tried pseudoSue without any preconceptions and it blew me away, enough for me to call it one of my favorite beers I've ever tried. I am huge supporter of TG, and while I do enjoy the occasional ZD (I've got 4 in my fridge as I type), I'd much rather have reliable access to a steady supply of pseudoSue. Cheers to TG for making an amazing beer that showcases what Citra hops can do, and get ready for me I'm coming up next weekend!

The correct answer is Odd Side CPA but I'd like a crack at PS either way.

They are both really good beers showcasing the Citra flavor profile very well. Would be a happy man to have both of these available in my fridge at all times. That's my opinion.

I agree with much of the above sentiment. I recently had ZD on tap at FFF brewpub and opened a bottle of PS later that day. Both beers are spectacular and I would love to have easy access to both on a daily basis, but PseudoSue won out for me. I think it showcases the Citra hops superbly and is an incredible beer that for me is more drinkable. I can't wait until their new brewery is up and running and they can increase their distribution.

I have always loved Zombie Dust, but Pseudosue is still the easy winner. I have always felt that Zombie dust is more of an IPA than an APA because of the aggressive bitterness(which is just a 3 Floyds trademark to "overhop" all their hoppy offerings). Psuedosue is much more refined than ZD because its got this "over the top" citra hop flavors without being aggressively bitter with phenominal drinkability. I have drank Pseudosue and ZD from the bottle fresh and on draft fresh; in both cases Pseudosue is the obvious winner. Bravo Clark and TG staff you guys brew the best Citra hopped APA in America!

I have had both, and I like zombie dust a lot better. Pseudosue tasted bland compared to zombie dust. Pseudosue taste like a light version of zombie dust, which I don't think is very heavy or bitter to begin with. Zombie dust is hyped up so much, it is hard to live up to those high expectations. If I was given a glass of both of these blind, I would probably pick zombie dust.

Why must we choose? Is it wrong for a man to love more than one citra pale ale? They are both outstanding and I am happy to drink either. Thanks to bpolglaze for setting me up with the PS.

Please tell me you are looking at Chicago for expanded distribution. The PS my friend sent me was outstanding. Keep up the good work.

I haven't had the pleasure of trying pseudo sue yet but if it gets compared favorably to Zombie Dust then I'll have to seek it out!

So much hate flowing through the blood of these FFF haters! In the words of P Diddy... "All you do is hate, hate, hate!"
It seems like some people on here are just looking for a reason to try and bash FFF.

I did not see anyone bash FFF.... Just say they prefer PseudoSue, which if that is hating then I guess I hate FFF. Time to give my Alpha King and ZD away.
