Out of the numerous beers, breweries, and distribution networks we've acquired in the past two years, what would you say is your favorite?

I'd have to say Ballast Point - Victory at Sea: its an awesome beer that you can find just about anywhere now.

Victory at Sea is amazing. I think that my vote has to go to Sucaba for now, though.

    KBS and Sucaba.

I could only DREAM of having Founders & Firestone Walker available in Texas 2 years ago!

I'm actually drinking the Urbock right now, lol.

Their beers always make me want a cigar or bacon.

Two years? Lots of goodies, but I'd live without them. Turn the clock back 6 years and there are several Stone beers I would miss horribly, not to mention Freetail and Real Ale's Mysterium Verum series.

Imo, founders has made the biggest impression. With this hot weather, going for a lot of all day and 31.

hahaha... I was in an HEB when a lady was offering samples.. she asked if I'd like to sample some beer.. I said, do you have any Stone Enjoy By? She said no, but I have this Frio Light which is really good.... I said no thanks, I'm full.

Until I get some KBS and FBS, I'm going with Ballast Point... Sculpin and Victory at Sea are both so solid and delicious.

I thought the verdict on these was that they were "leftovers", either from the Spec's back room or from the distributor. Either way, there's no chance Allagash just decided to send fresh beer to Texas without fanfare. Knowing us, if/when they do come back, the freakout will be impossible to miss.

They were most certainly leftovers. A few weeks ago I bought a bottle each of Black (batch 21) and Tripel (batch 161) from Spec's Warehouse. There weren't any bottling dates so I emailed the brewer and asked if they knew. Black 21 was bottled June 10, 2010 and Tripel 161 was bottled August 12, 2010.

That Black was pretty good, but the Tripel was definitely showing some signs of overaging. Have never had a tripel that really improved with age and most actually get worse. Just my opinion anyways.

I enjoyed them both, but you're right, the Tripel didn't necessarily get better, but it developed a funky character that I liked.

I agree the funkiness was the best part of the tripel, even if it was inappropriate for the style.
