I've had this, it was pretty damn good. Wish it was more pumpkin-y though, as I just got hints of it.

We'll see after we're done bottling next week, but we expect there to be less than 100 cases (500ml bottles). We were only able to get a few hundred pounds of strawberries from Texas.

Will this be a at JK only bottles?

Probably. The new norm for us going forward is to release our new beers or new batches of our limited beers at Jester King. How much gets distributed beyond our brewery really remains to be seen based on demand. I have sympathy for the people who may have a tougher time now finding our limited release beers than before. Our hope is that the increased margin we should see from selling beer at Jester King will help us grow and make our beer more available throughout Texas with time. However, being in New England this past weekend for the Shelton Brothers Festival and seeing first hand how breweries like Oxbow and Hill Farmstead handle their bottle releases tells me that we're gaining even footing with our out-of-state peers.

I understand that. I hope this does not make it so people go up there and buy quite a few and then resell them to others (who couldn't get there) for way too much.

Luckily, with eBay curbing the illegal beer selling market, a lot of this activity has stopped. Granted, there still are some sites out there with outrageously priced beers.

This makes me sad and happy at the same time. Sad to see that I most likely won't get to try many of your new beers for a while, but glad to see your brewery grow and hope that once again, in the future, Houston will get distribution of your limited beers. I can completely understand your position on this and wish you the best.

Any Austenites want a Houston trading partner? JK for Karbach or whatever else you want?

As long as Jeff sends Funk Metal to Houston I will remain happy.

Also, with the law having changed, it may make sense for us to start a reserve society or something of that nature at some point. I still feel that we're a little ways from doing that. There's a lot of new stuff going on with us both in terms of our beer making and the new legal landscape in Texas. Once things settle down a little bit, we'll re-look at a way for people who aren't near our brewery to reserve various beers. I promise you that if we start a reserve society it won't be to make extra money, it will just be a way for people to secure access to our more limited beers.

Have you guys given any more thought as to how you're gonna handle the bottle releases at the brewery? (First come first served, tickets, online tickets, etc)

I still haven't had a chance to sit down and research the topic well. I will definitely be closely reading the feedback on this thread soon. The brewers we talked to in New England recommended doing tickets.

Tickets would be nice, especially if we knew going into it how many bottles would be allocated to people with tickets, unlike Ananke day where nobody really knew what the bottle limit was going to be until Freetail counted how many people showed up.

It will, I promise you. It will also cause the trade value to go up and based on the pre trades, it already has. Lets hope our TX bretheren who get some don't hold this beer hostage from the rest of us . Remember this site is about being a beer advocate, not about winning, right?

Reserve society would definitely be cool so everyone in the state would have the chance to buy ALL of JK beers again without having to drive to every release.

Off the current topic a bit - does anyone have a Buddha's Brew they would part with?

On topic - RS or not I'll be there for the releases because I love your location and the way you guys take the time to interact with your patrons.
