My cellar contains two shelves devoted to the majority of my sports cards from my youth.

I'm going to rummage through my brother and parents houses over the 4th. I was so into cards as a kid too. I was a few years ahead of you. I got into old cards in high school. There is a Mickey Mantle in a gun case, but somewhere there are Willie Mays, I had a Gretzky rookie and a 2nd year Jordan, etc.

I had/have tons of vintage sets. At one point had complete Topps sets 1968-1990. I was wheeling and dealing cards like crazy. I used to have tables at sports card shows. I was more than willing to take advantage of Baby Boomers trying to relive their youth.

My little guy likes buying sports cards. I really like it, to me it is a great thing for a kid to get into. Unfortunately, his preference is WWE cards. I couldn't help smiling when he started bringing individual cards to school trade with his friends.

Not a sports card, but would you happen to know how much a newspaper of the Chicago Sun-Times featuring the Chicago Bulls 1st Championship would be worth? I've been wanting to know what this badboy is worth...

A quick look at recent sold listing puts it at about $10. Hold onto if for another thirty years, it may be worth $50 if everyone else in Chicago throws their copy out.

Who would be on the cover? Hopefully it would be the girl from Lobo's avatar. DC, nice call on the upper deck launch, blast from the past!!!

That was actually the 1986 Fleer Update (I assume just a typo from one so knowledgeable as yourself), and the regular 1986 Donruss was probably the premier Canseco rookie card back in the day. Four years working at Shinder's and working as a merch buyer left me with a lot of worthless knowledge about baseball cards and comic books (and even more worthless cardboard coasters, sadly).

Back on point to OP: I agree with the consensus that you should either drink that Darkness or just do a simple trade for something that sounds interesting to you. Adding steps to the process by acquiring ANOTHER beer you don't actually want will lead to more headaches than satisfaction.

Hold onto it too long like a Jose Canseco rookie card, and you'll find tons of Darkness bottles popping up for sale on the web for $0.99 and regretting your wasted years of indecision. But it's your bottle, so do whatever makes you happy!

A Jose Canseco bat? Tell me you didn't pay money for this.

No, but I'd still pay top dollar for an autographed syringe with authentication that it was used in the A's clubhouse during the Bash Brothers days.

    Correct, typo.

That is probably why it never seemed that rare to me at the time. I'm sure I still have a few of them left. Now I just need to find one and have it graded this high...

    1986 DONRUSS #39 JOSE CANSECO - BGS 10 PRISTINE!!!

1987 excepted, 1986-92 Donruss are just the absolute worst. That guy must have gone on to design the old Weyerbacher labels.

It was only SLIGHTLY better than 1988 Donruss, which isn't saying much.

Any set that go enough flourescent colors on the cards to make me wonder if they butchered a clown during the making of them are good by me.

I hear that the 2008 is totally infected but in a good way. It was canned that year and the entire can was dipped in wax, too. If you can't find someone with pics of a whole-can dip job, don't do it.
