Anyone see this pop up yet? I've heard of it hitting some other places but haven't heard of any PA sightings. I promise...I won't buy all of it

It was on the 12% Imports preorder list for July.
You''ll start seeing it in SEPA in a couple of weeks.

... And TJs had it at a way more reasonable price grouped with classic tilquin. $28 for a pair of 375s. But that was over a week ago I think. Pretty sure they're sold out

...is anyone actually paying these prices?

*correction: is anyone actually willing to admit they're paying these prices? I would hope not, so that it will send a message to these retailers, but we all know that isn't happening.

Also in before some owner comes in here and tries to justify these prices or the normal douchenozzle that says"welllll if you don't like it, don't buy it. nobody is forcing you to "

I have no big contribution to this thread but I feel compelled to ‘vent’:

The prices mentioned in this thread are INSANE!

As to the topic of a retailer stating that people are not compelled to pay the prices they charge, they are correct. That is how a free market economy works. Beer is not a staple good and people do not have to buy it if they do not want to.

On a somewhat constructive side: if there was ever a reason to homebrew it would be to make sours so that you don’t feel compelled to pay these absolutely CRAZY prices!

    Whew! I feel better.

    Cheers!

TJ's just tweeted that they still have 7 pairs left. $28 for the pair is fairly reasonable considering what a regular Tilquin goes for in the city.

What does the regular go for in the city? 750ml. just curious because I live in an are where prices are relatively high and I'm trying to see where we stand in relation to other PA areas. Thanks.

I have seen 375s of regular tilquin reasonably go for around $8?-12. Not going to include the unreasonables. 750s for around $18- $20.

I made the douchenozzle comment because when people usually say that, they're doing it in a way that is them somehow justifying that. Yes. Free market. No we don't have to pay it. Do we have to sit back and ignore it though? Noooooo
What do we want?! Reasonably priced sours. When do we want it? Now!. Hey hey ho ho. This penis party's got to go.

You're the best, I laughed out loud. Thanks for the info. In the Lehigh Valley we are seeing about the same at bottle shops, maybe $4 to $6 more at bars with the occasional bar being out of line.

How about cases - are those available for a more reasonable per-bottle price?

The 28 at TJ's is for a Gueuze and a Quetsche...

^^ I've seen cases at Bella vista before of the classic. Maybe they have quetsche?

Cases of Classic Gueuze were $180 at Bella Vista when they had them back in March/April - 12 750s or 24 375s. Have not personally seen cases of Quetsche around the city.

Cases of Tilquin are 6-750ml or 12-375ml, just a FYI.

Yes, but here some distributors (like Bella Vista) tape two of those together and make you purchase both. Must have something to do with the local legality of what constitues a "case".

Bella Vista got dinged by the PLCB for splitting Russian River cases a bit ago (even though every single distributor ever splits those) and so they won't sell anything under the legal liquid limit anymore as far as I can tell.
