That, ladies and gentlemen, is a cask of Pineapple Habanero Sculpin that arrived today at Nobi Public House. Sounds like it'll be the only one in Houston. No word yet on when they'll tap it, but I will for sure be there when they do.

EDIT- Nobi posted on their Facebook that this is the first pineapple habanero Ballast Point has ever done.

Interesting Sculpin mix. I'd try if I could find it closer.

They had it at The Lake Saucer BeerFeast on the 15th. I heard it kicked rather quickly.

I was lucky enough to get a second go-around with (512) Cascabel Cream Stout last week at a party at the brewery and it was even better this time around. After it had been aging for a few months, the pepper flavor really settled in and made it much spicier and all the more delicious.

I also had a great Hatch Green Chile beer in New Mexico a while back (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/3791/12881) and it was delicious as well.

I will say that this style can be easily screwed up.
Anybody ever try Twisted Pine's Ghostface Killah? It is THE DEVIL! So spicy and also just gross.

BUT, I have total faith in Ballast Point and get the gut feeling that this would be delicious!

yes they did. i had it there, i made sure it was one of the first beers i tried when i got there. it was good. def has a pepper kick to it. it reminded me of a weak version of ghost face killa.

My thoughts exactly. Sculpin doesn't really age well.

This has way more pepper and heat than no labels jalapeƱo beer.. And way better. Not something is drink often but with the right food it would be awesome.

I didn't get a lot of pineapple but there was still citrus and bitterness but they were much less pronounced than the habanero. Plenty of pepper taste and actual heat. Its pretty neat but not something I'd drink often.
