Westmalle, and Nothing else's come close yet. I like Allagash quite a bit, though.

Aside from the obvious Belgian classics, I enjoyed Great Divide Orabelle when it was released.

Just drank another The Tides and the Takers last night. Has to be one of my favorite beers of the year! I plan to go pick up a couple more just for safe keeping.

On the more traditional side Westmalle is def #1 with tripel karmeliet following closely behind

Merry Monks is at the top of the list as far as American tripels. Allagash tripel underwhelms every time I order it, so I've stopped ordering it.

Overall, you can't go wrong with Westmalle or St. Bernardus. I find Karmeliet and La Fin Du Monde to be a bit too estery for my taste as I like tripels on the dry and spicy side, but if you like your tripels on the fruitier side, these are the best.

Aside from the Belgian classics... La Fin Du Monde, Mother Earth's Tripel Overhead (BBA), and Allagash Tripel/Curieux.

Update: drank Tide and It's Takers last night. It was amazing (like all of Anchorage's brews seem to be), but I have a hard time classifying it as a tripel. The brett really gives it more of a farmhouse characteristic than anything else.

Tripel is one style where my favorites are all pretty much the famous Belgian ones.
St. bernardus, Karmeliet, Chimay, Westmalle, etc. La Fin Du Monde is just as good as those as well.

Belgian ales tend to be much more expensive in the US. St. Bernardus Tripel is about $4 per 33cL bottle here.
