Hi everyone, just thought I would share my love for this site after recently discovering it. Also how much I love craft beer especially American craft beer. I love UK ales but the scene in the USA is amazing. It's a struggle to obtain some US beers here but all the ones I've tried so far are fantastic, I'm a self confessed hop head and US pale are for me the best in the world. Keep up the good work and keep posting pictures that always make me drool!!

You're welcome. Not all of our beers are warm and flat. We need a hop revolution in the UK

Try some Kernel if you can. Their ipas are made with tons of American hops, on par with some of the best American ones.

Aha great shout will do. Think I've had an imperial stout made by kernels and that was fantastic. I'll look out for their IPA. Thanks

Ha ha not asda or a nuclear bunker. There are hoppy ales in the UK but I just felt that the scene was slightly different here in the UK and that I have a strong affection for American pale ales. I'm not disrespecting UK ale at all.

We get a lot of big beers in and generally split the cost between us all, it's a great way to make friends and try some amazing beers at the same time

Sounds perfect. Do you do one style of beer per night. You got any planned in the near future?

Of course it's different here because the two countries started the "craft" movement from different bases. The UK built on existing best practice and reflected our drinking customs. The US began with more or less a clean sheet.Far more beer is drunk at home and much more is bottled or canned than in the UK.
I too enjoy my hops and very hoppy beers do extend our horizons. But for most of us it's a matter of as well as rather than instead of, our native beer styles.I would walk past a host of IPAs to get to a decent mild.
