do you ever hand out small samples of beer that you like to friends? i'm finding out it's a great way to get favors in return, in the form of new brews to try!

Don't be stingy, give them a whole beer!...or if by sample, you mean one or two beers from a 6-pack that's ok

I like sharing beers I like with my friends, because they are my friends...

if you include all the times I buy pints for my friends or they buy for me, then yes, there is a hell of a lot of free sampling going around.

this has been the ordinary course in western civilization for over 500 years I believe.
    Cheers.

I feel this thread was started to intentionally draw thread shitting! Wtf? Yo share beers with others so they will owe you? Not my philosophy on beers...not my philosophy on life.

I bet you take a six pack to a party and take home what you don't finish.

I give my family and friends, oh say, about 3 or 4 oz of a new beer. If they like it, they get more. If they don't, no biggie.

I find that I tend give out a full beer to my friends I drink with most often. And in turn, they tend to buy me a beer on tap when we go out and I realize my cash is gone. But if I'm hanging out with my roommate and our friends that don't drink much, I'll offer a taste if I'm drinking some good beer and they usually appreciate it.

I always share beers. That's why when my friends and I travel we have no problem bringing each other brews back from around the country.

I don't share my beer with friends because the last time I did, it was a Dogfish Head 90 minute and he said it tasted "like a hoppy Guinness", and he doesn't like Guinness. NEVER!

Unfortunately most of my friends drink Coors Light and whatnot. A few years ago I gave a friend a bottle of fresh SN Celebration and it was still in his fridge the following May. I'd love to share good beer with friends, but if they're not going to even try to appreciate it then why bother?
