Good morning patriots of Pale Ale and loyalists of Lager!

I hope this message finds you ready to enjoy another fine Sunday with something new and tasty in your nonic, snifter, or goblet.

Weather in Central OH is muggy, rainy, and warm. The warmth still has me dialed in on the IPA's and picked up some Lagunitas Maximus IPA yesterday. It wasn't new to me but it had been a while and boy did it impress! Lots of "West Coast" hoppy goodness going on there. Those brewers sure know how to do IPA right.

Today's focus is the same as it has been for the previous 435 weeks: NEW beer. And we do like to keep it focused on Sunday for various historical reasons but try not to get too bent out of shape. If it was 12:01 am last night or 11:59 tonight as long as it's NEW and you TELL us about it we're good.

Linked reviews are always appreciated but a very good description is the minimum requirement. Folks always bring it strong on the pics too but not a requirement. Just something you've had that's new on Sunday.

I hope you're like me and have a shorter work week to look forward to. Regardless, I hope you all have a safe and fantastic Fourth of July holiday. If you're out west, stay frosty my friends. Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun.

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

    Morning, Matt!

Greetings, too, to you, as you arrive , to this week's NBS...

Hazy white skies, humid and warm on the long island off the east coast…
Been seeing a lot of weather icons with like, clouds, the sun, a lightning stroke, and a quadrant of rain (talk about covering your bases) for weeks now – lol – TV “meteorologists” have it made .

Been listening to this all week since I found it.

Guest female vocalist is Pernille Rosendahl, whom I suppose would be considered a “pop” star in Denmark. There was a comment likening their performance to Johnny Cash and June Carter.
    Awesome stuff (IMO) :grinning:.

    Aaron Hernandez, huh? Wow. Lol
    [IMG]
That’s all I’ll say, ‘cuz I don’t wanna get anybody riled up on a…

    New Saison Sunday

Handful of new saisons and funky pales this past week.
This is what I picked up on Wednesday:
Guess you could say, “’tis the saison…” *knee-slap*
    *crickets*

...and add to that a Mikkeller Farmhouse Invasion IPA.
Lotsa (mostly new) saison action all week. The Scotch is just a plus

Held off on the big bottle for today.
Westbrook Brewing Co. just landed in my area (*ouch*) this past week, along with Evil Twin, Stillwater (well, they were nearby, but just not in my store), and Crooked Stave. Not a bad week for new beer, eh?
This is Westbrook’s Thomas, third in their “Bearded Farmer” series of saisons.
The only saisons I’ve had that I wasn’t particularly partial to were the dark ones.
I just think “pale” when I think saison.
    This was delightful.
Rustic; no brett (AFAIK), but with something (maybe the French yeast used?) that gave it a nice dank muskiness underneath the very distinct hops and malts.
The Saison Dupont and the Fantome Saison being my frames of reference, this was a very good saison, but really, all of the saisons I’ve had this week were truly enjoyable brews. This was simply one of many, from brewers perhaps not as recognizable as others, that are producing some truly note-worthy ales.

    Cheers, folks!

Hi everyone. Today is new beer sunday and of course I tried a new beer. It was Elysian Space Dust IPA. I had not intended to buy that beer and I picked it up quite by accident. It was a happy accident indeed. I liked it very much.

The weather here has been on and off rainy and damp but I don't mind as I like a gloomy rainy day now and then. Eye candy, and so was today's beer.

    Cheers and Happy Sunday =)

    ***New English Pale Ale Sunday!!!

G'day Matt and to the rest of the NBS crew!

I had about a 2 hour power outage this morning and nothing failed* when the power came back on.

My new beer, a Wyoming brew drank from a Howler, is pretty decent for the style but with all due respect, it'll be a one off for me:

    * the last power outage we had, also on a Sunday, my DSL modem bit the big one.

    NEW WHITE IPA SUNDAY !!!

Greetings and all the best to the NBS group on a very warm and muggy day here at the Jersey Shore. Rain and dampness have been the orders of the week around here and it looks like there will be a few more days of this silly nonsense.
So I decided to cut the back 40 ( about an acre, actually) before the late afternoon rains come in. Then there was the trimming, etc. After all that, I rewarded myself with this Saranac offering:http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/99/76375/?ba=NiceTaps. And I'm glad that I did!
Now it's time to get cooking, my wife and I are entertaining some good friends who we have not seen for a month. They'll be here soon. I hope the rain holds off for a while so we can sit outside and enjoy a few frosties while we BS.

    Cheers!

Greetings fellow NBSers! A beautiful, warm (bordering on hot, for us), and sunny day here in the Fourth Corner. Feeling a bit beat this morning, I bounced back and forth between 2 jobs yesterday, and ended up working over 16 hours. I had fun though, and last nights tips are going back into the economy in the form new beers. One of my local brewpubs hosted a fund-raiser in their beer garden this morning to help our local all-ages music venue get up to fire codes by buying a sprinkler system. Live music, and local beer while making 2 passes through the buffet line, under the warm sun was a great way to start the day.

The first of will probably be several new brews is the latest "Session IPA" from a Seattle brewery. The finish was a bit too bitter for me, but it was really good anyway: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/4378/71598/?ba=beertunes

    NEW QUAD SUNDAY

Greetings from Lancaster county all! Quiet day with the family today, walks and Dr. Suess dominating the day so far. A great time today, but my nap time beer choice wasn't a very good one.

    New APA Sunday

    Hey Ho NBSer's,

Nice summer day in SCMN. Just came back from "up north" with the greatly delayed summer meaning much less weeds in the lakes, yet still very pleasant water temperatures for a morning swim yesterday and today. Nothing better than being in the water out on the lake that is calm, except maybe landing a biggun' while fishing at that time in the morning. Nonetheless, summer is why we put up with the long, long winters in these here parts. It's worth it.
Going to a beer that has been around for a long long time, but just never got around to buying, drinking and reviewing. A well established Michigan brewery. A more malt forward APA than the very hoppy APA (EPA) that is most popular in MN. Nothing wrong with, just a standard everyday beer.

Very nice day here in Northern Utah, about 100 degrees and sunny. A couple of weeks ago I went down to Vegas and picked up a few brews. This is one of them, would buy again, very tasty.

    Happy NBS to all...

I'm on vacation next week and we're heading to the mountains of upstate New York for the holiday.
Hopefully it will be a bit less humid than it has been the past week or so on Long Island.
I'll check out the beer stores up there for some fresh Flower Power and to see if they have anything I can't get locally.

and now on to my 1st new beer...

Happy NBS my BA mates. Joining you later than usual. Normal Sunday for me. Grocery shopping, hair cut, watch kids, yard work, and now onto some grilling. Hope everyone had a pleasant Sunday.
I dove into a new IIPA from 3 Floyds and really enjoyed it. My review.

    Greetings NBS-

A grossly humid and overcast day here in Southern, CT. While it has not been raining a ton, I also cannot remember exactly what the sun looks like.

The fam went to Newport, RI today and I stayed at home to take care of some items that were on "the list".

The upside is that I got done quicker and am enjoy an NB for S earlier than usual and grilling up some tasty dinner. I've been anxious to try this one from Bear Republic and it did not dissapoint:

This was the last of the IPAs that brentk56 (thanks!) shipped me (Still got a couple of Stouts, though!). I was a little underwhelmed, but that's not to say it's not a good beer. I just had my eyes set higher.

Today has been mostly overcast here in the 'Lou (no one calls it that), and I guess it rained at some point (I've got my blinds closed to minimize distractions).
I've been supposedly productive all day: studying for my next big round of tests this coming week and planning my best friend's bachelor party (also this coming week). I am more optimistic about the wedding than the tests at this point, ha.
Realistically what this has meant is just rewatching video from the lectures and lab stuff while I wander around looking for food to shove down my gullet.

I had picked up a RuinTen on friday when class got out with the plan of using that for my NBS entry, but last night temptation got the best of me, so I won't post the link to my review (try not to cry too hard, fellow NBSers...). I regret nothing!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their afternoon/evening/now and enjoying what you're drinking.
    Slainte!

I will not whine! Kids whine! Finished the Tough Mudder in beautiful Brooklyn MI yesterday, so I'm treating myself to steak, ice cream, and whatever beer I want today.

Beautiful day in West MI. Blue skies and temps in low 80's. Perfect summer weekend.

Today's beer was decent. Good but doesn't stand out.

Moving a few blocks down the street opens up the possibility of a couple more new brews. I'm back to the Session beers: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18353/95975 . On a semi-related note, there used to be regular here on BA who took his Session beers seriously. I follow him on Untappd, and he was in Seattle for a few days this week. It fun seeing which of our PNW brews he was having.
