    It's a gorgeous summer day here in the Windy City. A few spotty clouds and a little cool, but no rain so I'm not complaining. We opened this bomber last night, but finished it after midnight, so it still counts, right? It wasn't exactly what I expected, but it was still a nice, light imperial stout. It's great for summertime.

    Greetings, fellow NBSers,
    90 degrees and sunny in the city with over 700 3-on-3 basketball teams playing on the streets this weekend. Yesterday I avoided Hoopfest by driving east and spending the day in northern Idaho. I attended Selkirk Abbey's anniversary party for a couple of hours and sampled their new quad and imperial saison (and bought a bomber of the latter), then drove on over to Coeur d'Alene, where I bought some beers not available in Washington.

    I'm starting off with one of them now, a canned IPA from Boise that might not win high marks among ardent hop heads, but was a nice, sessionable IPA that hit the spot after getting off work on a very hot day:

    >>> New Beer...ooops...sorry <<<

    Have to tell this story quickly here. Sorry for no review, but like most, I was beer shopping for some weekend brews and looked for a few new bottles to try. Didn't see much, but then I spotted Stone RuinTen IPA. Picked up a bottle, then thought - I'll review this on Sunday and post in the NBS thread, as I often do.

    Didn't have a clue that it was the re-packaged 10th Anniversary beer. Which I had last year. Oh well, at least it's a great beer.

    Until I can find a new one - CHEERS!

    Greetings from the Columbia Basin. A great day here in dry and wheat country, sunny with temps in the low 90's.

    On such a summer-like day I am having Fresh Squeezed IPA from Deschutes. I actually had this last weekend at a brewfest in Lewiston, Idaho and thought it was quite good then. So I bought a bomber and here is the review.

    Looking forward to a short and peaceful work week with a few beer drinking opportunities along the way.

    Happy 4th all and happy trails.

    It's a hot NBS in Berkeley, CA, but not so hot as other nearby areas.

    Today's offering comes from Greywulfken in New York as reprisal for a small porch bomb of west coast goodies, and it comes in a can!

    Greetings & Happy NBS, on this last day of June!

    It was with great excitement that I saw some spanking-new 4-packs on the shelf today. I'm on my 2nd one (that just had to be contained in the oh-so-appropriate Winking Lizard Glass):

    Great Lakes Silver & Gold IPL

    Strangely, with each sip, I can't help but feel a bit sentimental. Great Lakes was at the very forefront of my beer-drinking journey. It was them, along with Pete's and Sierra Nevada, that truly opened up my taste buds. I had my first Dortmunder Gold in high school, so I'm celebrating approximately 16 years of GLBC enjoyment. Here's to many more..

    Cheers!
