It would also be awesome if you could see whether whatever beer you have searched for makes the top 250 list so you don't have to scroll through the entire list to see if a beer is on it or not.

I just use the find function on the page (part of the browser to find it).

Did you mean when you're on a page for a specific beer to be able to know this information? Maybe this is something that could show up on the right side near the food pairings, glassware and temps sections. For example, when looking at Heady Topper, a ratings box could say:
    • Ranked #1 in Top 250 Beers
    • Ranked #2 in Beers of Fame
    • Ranked #1 in American Double/Imperial IPA style
    • Ranked #2 in United States
    • Ranked #1 in New England
This could also include a link to the top list(s) it's ranked on to provide more cross functionality within the site.

Yes! All of that info would be awesome.

Why? Call me a wet blanket, but this seems like unnecessary information to put on the page. The ratings should already tell you that such beers are highly regarded; what good does knowing their rank on some list do anyone in any useful sense?

If you wanna know what's on the Top [X] list, just go to that list and take the extra minute to read or search.

Nice. Clever trick, but would that work for someone looking at the site on their mobile?

For beers with very high ratings, it's obvious that they must rank high on one or more lists. However, there are some beers that have lower ratings but might be only ranked for a particular style or country/region. For example, Full Sail Big Daddy J's Malt Liquor only gets a 3.64 but is the top-ranked beer for the style. If I was at a bar or store looking up beers, I might not pick this one up based on the review average, but if I knew it was the top ranked beer for the style that might change my decision.

I really like the top lists feature of this site and have spent a lot of time looking at each of them. In some instances, I've added beers on the lists to my "wants" list to make it easier to remember what to look for. However, when I'm at a bar or store trying to make decisions on what to get, having more information in a single location could be helpful and speed up the process. Keep in mind that some places have poor cell phone reception and slow data speeds so it's tough to load page after page on your smartphone without taking a long time.

I think I would like the opposite. Would there be a way to denote that a beer/brewery is part of BMC or a large conglomerate. It's getting so hard to figure who is real craft and who is macro. Some sort of category, corporation, macro, crafty, micro or nano?

Depends on whether they are using the browser or the mobile application.

Most of the "crafty" stuff shows up under the BMC brewery (ie, Third Shit and Blue Moon under Coors and Shock Top under Anheuser-Busch).

The only cases where I know this is not true is where craft breweries have been acquired by BMC, like Goose Island.

On the other hand, I'm not sure I really care to see for each beer whether is part of a larger conglomerate - i.e., part of Miller Coors or AB-InBev.

Not true look up hooegaarden , leffe, red hook, unibroue all acquired by mass conglomerates but are there as individual breweries. As the large companies buy up the small I sometimes think I am drinking craft while I am drinking a subsidiary. Note I am not silly enough to allow that to affect what I think of the beer.

Just because a brewery gets acquired (like my example of Goose Island) does not mean it is the equivalent of the other brands of the conglomerates - some of them way very well act as independent breweries and still make their product in the initial facility. In my opinion, that does not make a brewery "crafty" vs. "craft" as they are not pretending to be something they are not...

    Why is that even important?

because information is power, lol. I think just to know what is going on. btw if you looked at my scores etc you would see I am a huge supporter of Goose Island, Unibroue and still drink Hoegaarden/Leffe.

I guess that you could submit an update on each brewery after the acquisition to be contained in the Notes section if it was important to you... Personally, I don't really care but I suppose that is because I have worked in an industry where there is a lot of Merger & Acquisition activity.

You're still drinking craft. This anti-subsidiary whine is precisely why this information is superfluous. Leffe is still Leffe, Hoegaarden is still Hoegaarden and Goose Island is still Goose Island. Each of their products should stand on their own. You enjoy/hate it because of how it tastes, not because of the money flow. Beer drinking is not counterculture. Popularity or wide distribution should not be a disqualifying factor for craft brews. Lying about the process should be. Blue Moon and ShockTop are not in the same category as Goose Island and Sam Adams.

Do you have to be so vicious? Your antagonism is why I only lurked for so long on this site. Perhaps if there was less
backbiting more people would join in discussions on this site and why these boards need and have an ignore function. You hear a whine, I heard a request for information.
