I looking for a little help from all you BA's in the Houston area.

My girlfriend is flying to Houston today and is going to be staying north of Houston with family. I hoping find out where the best bottle shop, with single bottles, is North of Houston, if there is one.
Also, she only has room for 6 or 8 bottles to carry back, is there anything seasonal or really amazing that I should ask her to look for?

    Any help is much appreciated!

I am in the Kingwood/Humble area and there are not really any great bottleshops. Any of the local Specs have a descent variety and so do some HEB's. If you want better shops drive into town and go to the Smith St. Specs or D&Q.

I'll echo Clutch's setiments, D&Q is great as well as the Spec's downtown for bottle selection. D&Q is located off Richmond Ave and is west of Downtown but still inside the loop. Depending on the style Karbach has a great IIPA out called Hop Delusion that you may be able to find.

Throwing out some Northerly things Hubble and Hudson in The Woodlands has a fairly good selection and the Specs on Sawdust/Rayford has some things.

Yeah... I'd go out of my way to go to D&Q. That store is completely off the hook. It's so good, we talk about it in Austin.

Well, D&Q is the ONLY bottle shop in Houston, then theres Rowdys out in Deer Park/ La Porte and I don't know if the Shell Station on Blackhawk in Friendswood or that other gas station on 290 and West Rd in Jersey Village could be considered bottle shops. I guess they could as they are not very different from D&Q except for selling gas which Brandon does not, either way they are not in Houston.

Oops... thread derailment. My bad.

I will say that if your girlfriend is into intoxicants at all... have her stop at Spec's Downtown (Smith Street). It's basically Disneyland for drunkards (it's hugenormous). Good burgers too. D&Q is better for seasonals, however. And DQ is good for Chicken Fried Steak Sandwiches and dipped ice cream.
