Since we are about two months away from the hop harvest season I thought now may be a good time to plan ahead. What are everyone's favorite fresh hop beers ( added in the dry hopping process of course). I'm insanely excited for the chance to try one fresh!

Founders Harvest Ale is amazing.. not sure if you get that in Washington or not.. there are many other really good ones that can be found on shelves, but I'm currently drawing a blank..

    Celebration...
Unless I have the wrong understanding of "fresh hop".

low and behold this beer was first brewed the year I was born. And it is a fresh hop beer. Zing!

Yup Harvest Ale, best IPA that I've tried. SN Northern Hemisphere is different but also very good.

The first time that I had this, I had to just stare at it and marvel as to how damn good it was.

Sierra Nevada uses "Fresh Hop" to mean the first dried hops of harvest. Other brewers use the term interchangeably with "wet hops" - undried hops.

Thanks for reminding me about my addiction to these. I need to trade for some Wet this year. Harvest Ale is the best one I can get for the price. Broo Doo is very good, but pricey.

Edit: Sierra Nevada Estate Wet Hop Ale is a nice one.

Exactly. I didn't want to derail miss damsel's thread by supplying ammo for a "fresh hop vs wet hop" sidetrack.

BTW, that quote ought to be the once and done for the inevitable crop of threads that will pop up come November or December.

Deschutes Bond Street Series Hop Trip and Chasin' Freshies are both very good choices IMO. Both should be released in October and available in your area.

Hops are fresh a lot longer than they are wet, so is this the fresh hop thread or the wet hop thread?
