I've seen their beers trading like crazy in the trading forum, but I honestly assumed it was all local hype until I finally looked at the reviews and saw that the crazy reviews were coming from all over the country. How did this happen? Who are these guys? How do they make such good beers? Apparently I can't ignore them any longer.

It's Iowa. I think it was just a corn field until one of the brewers got a "build it and they will come" message from the afterworld.........

Hope to try MD or KBBS, maybe next year. However Sosus and PsuedoSue...AMAZING! Especially the Sosus.

They are no secret in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. They have been around making world class IPAs and stouts for a number of years. They are gradually increasing production and just finally started bottling a few beers (though infrequently for now) this year, so the word is getting out. They make me proud of my home state!

Hardly seems any different from a certain small brewery in Nowheresville, VT.

Middle of nowhere Iowa. Who would have figured that? Mornin' Delight... tastes like pancakes. WOW, that would be something. I've heard this one tends to be like Unobtanium. I'm in Iowa right now, ventured into a couple of liquor stores, and didn't find any of their brews... bummer!

A brewer in Iowa heard "Build it and they will trade the shit out of it on BA".

All I know is the beer is awesome and Clark, Mike, Beer Murph and the rest are as good as their beer.

Not going to lie, it's crazy though. And I have no idea how they knock it out of the park in just about every style.

The beer movement in Iowa has been strong for years. Iowa has mostly just been under the radar. Incredibly thankful to have the fans and support, not to mention interest from all over the country. Hope to share a beer with all of you in the future. Drink beer. Enjoy.

    Cheers,
    Mike

You would be silly to ignore them. Mornin' Delight and Kentucky Brunch are the best stouts that I have ever drank! PsuedoSue is the best APA that I have ever drank. Toppling Goliath is seriously killing it. They are of mythic proportions, but when you have that "pinch me is this real moment" Toppling Goliath is infact the real deal!!!:grinning: Clark and crew...good luck to you guys I think you have a very bright future ahead of you!!!

I don't want to rain on the parade, but personally I found PseudoSue extremely overrated. People bill it (or did) as a Zombie Dust killer, and that it very much is not (yeah, ZD is a little overrated, too). It's a solid Citra APA, but nothing spectacular. The only other TG beers I've had are Dorothy's New World Lager (which was a passable lager, but nothing compared to lager mainstays from New Glarus or Great Lakes) and Assassin (which blew me away with just how much the bourbon and barrel came through, though I question whether it is worth the ~$24/bottle, and which has an awesome, awesome label).

I really, really do want to try Mornin' Delight and KBBS, though. They sound fantastic, and the reviews only serve to build my hype (but that also makes me wonder if their lack of wide availability adds to the hype and perceived quality, like so many other beers).

Regardless, I hope to make it down to my friends to the southwest sooner rather than later and fully throw my money and support behind them.

    HAWKEYES! Go Mike!

Ray Liotta playing Shoeless Joe Jackson thought it was heaven.

We have had it in Iowa City on tap since 2010, have been buying the crap out of it and they were able to expand. If you like good local beer buy from your good local breweries.

It's probably going to be tough to find in D.C. for a long while, but take a trek, go to the brewpub, drink their beers, you can always find them there. Make a weekend out of it, there is plenty to see and do here!

Call your distributor and demand TG beer.

There is no need to lament not tasting MD this time around. FIND THE BEER, GET THEE TO THE BREWPUB, BUY THE BEER, THEY WILL MAKE MORE, I call this the long play not the OMG I need 1 sip to tick the beer then never give them my business ever again unless they make an ultra rare BA Stout. Find beer get beer drink beer rinse repeat, get creative this is a small country it is the summer, great time for a vacation! Planes Trains and Automobiles, ...

Sosus and Assassin are great beers. If they were made in Vermont the main comments about them would be, "Which ones, now?"

Assassin is the truth, one of he best beers I've had all year. If any of you Iowa folks want any Cigar City stuff beer message me, I'd love to try some more of their stuff. Stay strong Iowa no one thought Florida would ever have an an award winning brewery and now we more than one.

You better act like you know, great people making great beer. A perfect representation of Midwestern craft brewing.
