I love everything FW does....except Solace. Really disappointing IMO

Also, Black Butte Porter (why that beer gets so much attention is beyond me). Actually, now that I think about it its not so much that it's a "bad" beer (I've had some pretty bad porters) I just think its really overrated. Especially when you have Obsidian Stout as an option literally two feet away.

Stone 12.12.12 Vertical Epic was a mess, but I love most of their other beers.

You should read up more on Quality Assurance in the brewing process. Try Standards of Brewing: A Practical Approach to Consistency and Excellence, by Dr. Charles Bamforth.

    Easy:

    Evil Twin - Ashtray heart.
But the #1 worst beer Ballast Point Indra Kunindra - It taste like Sulfur eggs rotted stout and spicy curry.

That being said, you gotta reach, if you wanna make good beers... IMHO you just shouldn't release them in large qnty's

I should not. I am sure it is a great book, I just do not have that kind of time. With Homebrewing, a 2 year old and a baby, running a business and spouting random non sense on here I am pretty full up:slight_smile: I was more or less just saying that Peruvian Morning is not a bad beer, it is an Infected beer. So a better thread for his post would have been...

Worse Infected Beer by a Good Brewery. Not Worst Beer by a Good Brewery. As I have had about 3 cases of that beer in my life and only 2 4 packs have been infected. Is it a problem that needs fixing but not a bad beer.

    Cheers

You must not like hefes!! This is an awesome example of the style and probably a top 3 American brewed example of this style

An infected beer is a bad beer in my book. That is a brewing process issue. They have issues with the brewery and could clean it up with proper procedures.

Now there are beers that are well made that one does not care for. That does not necessarily make them bad, but if you don't like the style or interpretation of the style, then that is a personal taste decision. I could say Alpine Nelson was the worst beer I had in San Diego and is a terrible beer, but I have come to realize that there is something in Nelson Sauvin hops that I do not like. Since so many others rate the beer highly, it is my own taste perceptions that make it not so good. You see many posts in this thread already that a beer from a brewery is bad, but I might think it is good.

I'm a huge Ommegang fan but I tried Fleur at a beer fest and it was one of the more lackluster offerings of the day.

    I love Good Humans.

Honestly I'm trying to think of one that fits and drawing a complete blank. Probably the one I can say definitively, without going into brewery only and one-offs, would be Founders Devil Dancer. But even with that I wouldn't call it a "bad beer." I just don't like it.

Victory Swing Saison - just too spicy and peppery
Weyerbacher Merry Monks - a sweet syrupy mess
Bell's Smitten Golden Rye - flat out bitter

Though I've never had the displeasure of trying, seeing a FFF (Bully Guppy) beer in the bottom 25 is a real shocker.
