Does anyone know how many bottles were produced and/or released? I've heard quite a few different numbers; none of which I can recall and Google isn't turning up much but hearsay. Thx.

The only thing I've heard is that both Chicago and the NY Metro area got the bulk of what was shipped out. As far as actual numbers I do not know.

    **Hearsay**

Most places in Chicagoland got 1/3rd of their allotment of Coffee BCS of Cherry Rye (if they got any cherry rye at all). We were told at the Goose Island Black Friday tasting event last year that a good deal of loss-age occurred with the Cherry Rye barrels (the fruit absorbed more of the beer / created a ton of trub that couldn't be racked into a brite / bottling tank).

As for absolute numbers Goose Island hasn't really ever released that information that I can recall aside from Rare BCS.

    Cheers!

    I don't know, but I do know

    1. I never met anyone in Illinois who got a bottle
    2. I never saw a bottle in Illinois
    3. It was still sitting on some shelves in DC in February (about 2.5 to 3 months after it came out)

I was so flabbergasted by #3 I almost impulse-bought two bottles of it until I saw the price.....it was great but one was enough for that money.

I'm still amazed Coffee's price went up 200% and sold faster than it ever has. $12.99 in 2011, $24.99 in 2012.

Well, Goose let Binny's employees stuff cherries in the barrels and I heard from one worker that they had free reign for an hour or so before someone realized they forgot to give instructions about how much to put in. This particular worker put something like 100 pounds in and they were supposed to do 50 I think.......

Yea I know they let a lot of folks help stuff barrels (a couple of friends who are in the industry, but not employees at Binnys) were also involved that day. So much for industry outreach and goodwill

    Cheers!

I easily got 2 bottles of coffee and cherry. It wasn't too hard if you were willing to be patient and ask around.

Cherry rye is still easy to get if you trade your entire cellar away to get one. That's why I have given up trying to get a bottle. Sounds good but not worth the trouble.

I've scored close to a case of Cherry Rye thru trade since its release. Hasn't been hard it all. I think the production was pretty large. I traveled to VT from NYC in Feb and still found a store that had some left.

It was so easy to find in NY. I have two bottles and have not yet tasted the beer (can't fathom big stouts in summer). Waiting for first snowfall

Some people hate where they live because their living conditions are poverty-level in which they have to share a bed with two other siblings and worry every night that a stray bullet might enter their living room. Others hate where they live because their country is deteriorating financially and structurally as the years go by, with no central government, clean drinking water, or safe waste disposal available. Me? I hate where I live because I'll never have access to beers like the BCBS and Cherry Rye.

I felt fortunate to get two bottles of Cherry Rye since I'm downstate. The Coffee was a bit easier to find.
