In PA, I am seeing more and more Sucks in bottle shops and beer distributors. I don't understand the bottle date code so I am not sure if they are left over beers or not. BA lists the beer as "year round" where Lagunitas' site says it is seasonal. Any thoughts?

best i understand it the first three digits are the day of the year it was bottled (001 would be january 1st and so on), so it should be relatively easy to figure out how old it is.

Last I heard was that it was going to be year round starting late fall and available in both 6 packs and 32oz. I hope you are onto some new news. I love that goddamn beer.

If it pours darker than you recall and tastes less than amazing, it's the old stuff.

Also, don't pay too much mind to the info on their website. It's usually dated and often inaccurate. It still says Daytime will be released in July, and here we are halfway through the month.

This is ridiculous. Sucks was gone from the shops here within about a month after being released, and I only ended up getting one six pack. Yet somehow there is a ton of it sitting around in Pennsylvania?

Makes sense considering Pennsylvania's strange beer laws...

I was at a bottle shop / tap house and saw it in the cooler. I bought every bottle they had. Now a good friend of mine said she is picking up a case for me. It was not 100% what I remembered and a bit boozy, but still fantastic!

Sucks sold out pretty quickly last time it was here. For what it's worth I haven't seen it in months.

Last I heard they were waiting for the 32oz bottles, if they did it in 6 packs that would be amazing.

It was in 6 packs and available in SD for over 6 months. I'll check around.

I saw some in a store in Mass yesterday but it was definitely old stuff so I didn't buy it. This store also had BCBS and Founders Breakfast Stout which I did buy

To state the obvious those beers were brewed on Jan. 5, 2013 (they are 6 months old).

Why some retailer was unable to sell those beers in February is a mystery to me (and a damn shame).

    Cheers!

So does that mean it was bottled Jan 5th? What a waste...

The number came from the neck. The beer is still very good, but it hop characteristic is lacking for sure. Still a great beer. I would buy more of it if I saw it for sure.
