Tuesday night means cellared beer night for me, drinking a North Coast Old Stock Ale, wishing it had a bit less carbonation, and thinking about how much I enjoy beer. Sure I love Bourbon and wine, but after a long day at work I would rather pop a great beer than sip on a glass of wine. Whats everyone drinking?

I'm not sure if this one will hold up but what the heck:

Yup, that beer holds up well. It's one of the hidden secrets up here in the Fourth Corner. I've still got a few bottles of '09 Trumpeter sitting around, might have to try one soon.

LOL! I meant the thread but it's good to know that the beer will hold up well too. It's drinking great fresh!

Edit: Oh, and I almost put in the phrase "hidden gem" in my review. I think I should have.

Started out with a blind taste test between three of my single malt / single hop double IPA's with a Founder's Double Trouble.

All three of the homebrews were Maris Otter malt and their respective hop which were (from left to right) Citra, Columbus, and Simcoe.

All four were the exact same color; the Double Trouble was a bit clearer of a brew. After tasting, I blindly ranked the four, which came out like this (honestly):

    Simcoe
    Citra
    Columbus
    Double Trouble

The Simcoe and Citra were neck and neck, and I thought they had extremely similar aroma and taste. The Simcoe was just a bit stronger. I freakin love Double Trouble, but it seemed to be "earthy" compared to the dank pineapple of Simcoe and Citra. Plus the homebrews were around 150-170 IBU's (calculated), so that could be a part of it . Here's the label I created for them:

After that, I'm all hopped out. Time for an Imperial Stout Trooper.

    Just thought I'd share

It's a pretty top-notch beer day for me today with a fresh can of Heady Topper earlier and now sipping on a glass of Founders Imperial Stout. Might crack a Ten FIDY after this to refresh my memory and compare.

Session-ing Sculpin, if that is possible. Should not have bought that case...now where is my water?

Well, maybe this time it'll stay up!

Got a growler of Hoptimum that I'm needing to drink down. Started with a SN Summerfest as soon as I got home too.

Right now, I'm taking back a Burton Baton after/during dinner.

Gonna hit a stout up I think after this and call it a night. Drinking before dinner after eating nothing during the day will take me to the bed early with these "big kid" ABV beers.

Haven't opened it yet, but I'm planning on having a Mikkeller Hop Burn Low, which I'm excited for. Imperial India Pale Lager? Sure, why not.

Really enjoying Sam Adams Longshot variety pack- I'm having Derf's Secret Alt (Sticke Alt) and it's pretty, pretty good.

All Grain or Extract? Surely you used 2-row as well if AG? How did you calculate the IBUs?

Well, I finally got a taste of some KBS tonight... I stopped at a local watering hole here in Birmingham after work and they had KBS on tap. So I had a 10 oz pour of KBS, then had a pint of Green Flash West Coast IPA, then had another 10 oz pour of KBS before heading back to my hotel. I'm now enjoing a Terrapin Wake-n-Bake that I picked up at a local bottle shop. Needless to say, tonight has been a great night for me!
