Zwanze Day Russian River

Also, consider that there are two locations for Zwanze in Northern California this year, so hopefully that will help balance the foreseeable shitshow.

 

Is it ticketed or just first come first serve?

I heard they are only serving zwanze in special labeled RR/cantillon growlers!

I would like to go to RR for this but the mikkeler bar is so near my house. Last year got at trappist at 6am and was 3rd in line and i bet if zwanze is at RR i would have to stand in line at 4am or even earlier . i bet both locations are going to be huge shit shows but which shit show is more worth it?

 

That's what I'd like to get an idea of....Russian River or Mikeller Bar.....though Mikkeller Bar should have much better stuff than Trappist did last year. Not that Trappist was bad (Fou Foune, LP Kriek, LP Framboise, Zwanze). But, I imagine lots more Cantillon and sours at Mikeller (at a Premium of course........).

 

They had framboise last year? i remember only the lp kriek ff and zwanze.

But at Russian River if they put compunction on tap during that day i would ignore the zwanze and go double on that.

 

No you weren't! We got there at like 7:15. And you would've been in the door if you got there pretty late. RR shouldn't need to be that early, really, and I imagine Mikkeller would be the same.

 

I guess your right i think i left my house at 6am and got there at 7:15. I blame the rain that morning that was the hardest rain i remember of this whole year in the bay.

 

Why would you expect Mikkeller bar to have "much better stuff" than The Trappist? They're run by the same guy.

 

Have you seen Mikkel's cellar?

 

As in, the cellar at the bar? Or his personal cellar?

Never seen his cellar. I imagine it's quite awesome. I was just going by what Mikkeller has revealed they just received over the past few weeks by the facebook post, which was suggesting to me that they'd release what they're posting on FB vs. Trappist's cellar which I've never seen nor been hinted that they'd release (kind of like Cable Cars...I know they exist, and I know that they are in the cellar....but, will I ever see one, not likely...at least not as likely as getting to try some of the stuff posted by Mikkeller Bar SF on their FB page....

I'll be the guy sitting out front reading my Chemistry book for a couple hours before they open, wearing a Funky Buddha t-shirt if anyone wants to say whats up.

 

I plan to go unless something changes. They have a flier up with no mention of tickets, just zwanze and some other cantillon kegs with zwanze tapping at noon
