Houston Gingerman Tasting July 14

Can I report myself now? Tonight's post will be interesting.

 

I was at a Veritas release two days after my first was born and the wife and kid were still in the hospital. There is literally almost nothing for you to do in those first days. (Add everything up and it is maybe 30 minutes of actual work over the course of a day.)

And by my second one I realized there wasn't a whole lot that "needed" to be prepped ahead of time. Pack a bag of stuff for the hospital and prepare a small spot for the kid to sleep at home plus some clean cloths and towels. (And maybe a few days of meals in the freezer.) Anything else is a waste.

 

I think I'm bring some cow ball beer and some Paradox.

+ a limited number of Ska Mint Stout cans for people to take home. This was supposed to come to Texas but TABC rejected the label and all those cases now flood the market in Durango. You can literally get 6 packs for $5 at the moment. And this also means the cream stout, which is oh so delicious won't be canned. Think their orange cream stout without the orange. (Local 14 and A Skawork Orange.)

 

Alex and I are in. Gonna bring a Beer Geek Rodeo, Weasel Rodeo, and Beer Geek Brunch Weasel. (And a mead.) Can anybody help finish off the collection with a Whiskey Rodeo, a Beer Geek Breakfast, and/or whatever other crazy variations Mikkeller has done on the theme?

 

I'll bring a 500ml Beer Geek Breakfast.

 

Can someone grab my tiny Buffalo Bayou snifter glass? I left it in the far back table near the plants.

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said , No, no,no. I would like to remind everyone, please don't forget about the bluegrass jam at Hickory Hallow BBQ this Thursday. And thanks for the gman for putting up with all our Shenanigans once again. Merle said this is vey hard but He is going to try and keep up.

 

This was the best Houston Bottle Share I've been to. Thanks to everyone for their generosity!

I got pics! Will post in a bit. Got every bottle except the growlers. I believe there were einhorn, hill farmstead, yellow rose, xpa, and some other growlers.

Out of the 108 beers photographed, I tasted 50. A lot of those I never even saw. That was probably the craziest share I've ever been to.

 

It was insane.
