Totally agree - Class A move after people are ripping his beer.

BTW, I happen to think Luchador En Fuego is a most excellent beer!
Along with Porcine Unidragon, it shares a rating of 92 here on BA.

I'm surprised that more people haven't came out of their "Clown Shoes" closet.

hello all. i typed out a full update a few days ago to another BAer in a message, so i am going to just copy that here:

"i have received neither a package nor even another word from matty_monster since calling him out. i looked into him a bit more online and found out that he has an account under the same user name on untappd that he is still actively using. also, it turns out that a friend who lives in california has seen the guy before at reserve society gatherings, and he said that he was acting like a dick to people even then. so he went ahead and added him as a friend on untappd and proceeded to leave comments to his posts calling him out. matty quickly deleted them, though, and then he set his account to private. my friend was able to get this screen capture before that happened:



which is one of the meads i sent him. not only is he not sending me the things he owes me and not communicating with me at all, but he is drinking what i sent him using the glass that i sent him (which i had to go back for since he did not like the first one i got him) while sitting at a pool and then posting about it on untappd. this all happened after my friend started leaving comments, so i really believe this was a specific malicious posting towards me to further rub my face in it

can you feel my frustration in this matter! ARGH ARGH ARGH!

so i emailed the bruery, kuhnhenn, b nektar, deschutes, russian river, and three floyds (because when i checked his untappd the first time he was drinking dark lord) and told them a short version of what happened and asked them to spread the word that he is a shitty person and to not sell things to him in the future if it is at all possible. the responses that i have received from the places have been mainly "that sucks but we cannot really do anything," but i feel better having sent them

i also found his mom and sisters on facebook and sent them a quick message about what happened, but i have not heard back from any of them yet

oh and at one point i sent him this love note:





so yeah, i am not really sure where to go from here. i was able to find what i think is a house phone number for his mother's house, so i may call that one day. and i am just going to continue on sending him progressively weirder text messages indefinitely"

the response from you all has been amazing, though, and the calling out thread led to a lot of people reaching out to me and helping me get the things that i was originally after. thanks so much everyone!

I wouldn't go any further with this if I were you. Contacting his family members on Facebook is pretty hazy. Call his mother's house and you may be setting yourself up for a problem much larger than losing a box of beer.

 

What did you expect any of these breweries to do about this? No offense, but these are businesses that have far more important things to do than spread the word about someone that didn't follow through on a trade with you. Also, do you think they would really take a financial hit (granted, it would be a small financial hit given this is a single individual) because this guy didn't come through for you? I realize you are the victim here and it sucks that you got screwed over, but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around why you would ever email the breweries with any expectation they would do something about this...or even care.

 

Beats me. I just enjoy looking at beer ****.

Calling a moms house at all hours of the night seemed to have worked for me. Just *67 even though it may cost a little xtra. I also found contacting other family members and places of employment to be helpful. Feel free to pass on any info you may have to me privately . I tend to be awake when many people aren't.

 

Nothing worse than a theif. Can't say I'd do the follow-ups that you are doing but I sure do like reading about them. Keep up the good work!

I have no problem getting creepy when someone steals from me. In my situation the guy lived with his parents so technically I was just trying to get a hold of him not his parents. Any messages I left may or may not have addressed the fact that their son stole from me.
