Just pulled this off of FB: Selkirk Abbey Brewing Company It's official. Yesterday we made a bank transfer to Diversified Metal Engineering. I called DME this morning and our brand new 15 BBL brewhouse is now in the production queue and scheduled for a November 1st install here at the brewery. The system is the big brother of the system we have now. Both are direct fire, as we believe firmly that direct fire makes better beer. The new system will have rakes for the mash/lauter and a manifold on the brewstand rather than the dog-bones our current system uses for transfers. Grain handling will also be improved since the new mill is capable of crushing 4400 lbs per hour. We are also getting an additional 15 BBL brite beer tank. The net result of all this is that you are going to see more of our beer very soon.
Good news for their backs as far as grain delivery, mash rake, whirlpooling. They were whirlpooling manually with a paddle because the kettle inlet and pump wasn't doing a good enough job for them.
This is cool. I hear their bottles will be arriving in Boise soon. I have been very impressed with their tap options so far... and the labels look awesome.
Bombers of St. Joseph and 10° have shown up at Huckleberry's. I'm hoping to see Infidel and the black saison soon.
