Seems Great Lakes Brewing has some excellent seasonals out right now: Lake Erie Monster, Wright Pils, Silver and Gold IPL and the recently expired Rye of the Tiger. When you add Nosferatu and the exemplary Blackout Stout, it got me to wondering, what Great Lakes offering, either seasonal or standard, Like Eddy Fitz, do you consider their best? If you had a choice of a fresh glass of any of their beers, which one would you request?

Probably Alchemy Hour. Rye of the Tiger is also a favorite.

I was a huge fan of Hop Madness ("Quietness") when I had it on tap ~4 months back.

Rally Drum Red or Wright Pils or Edmund Fitzgerald of Commodore Perry... give me all the Great Lakes!

They're so solid all around that it's hard to pick, but a fresh Burning River is a wonderful beer.

Where is Dortmunder Gold so far? Incredible beer! Then again I have yet to meet a version of dortmunder that I don't love, it's like pilsner on steroids!

Eliot Ness and Alchemy Hour are tops for me, but they don't really make any beers that are less than above average, in my opinion, and if they do I haven't had it.

I really like Alchemy Hour but Christmas Ale from the tap will always hold a special place in my heart. Elliot Ness is also a really good beer. I honestly think that Great Lakes is one of the best breweries in the country without a doubt.

Oh I hate to double post but I forgot about the Ohio City Saison. This is another one that is as good as it gets from the tap.

I really think NEO as a whole has some fantastic breweries.

Alchemy Hour and Rye of the Tiger are both great seasonals.

Burning River is one of my favorite beers ever, and readily available year round. Just an awesome tasty pale ale.

They produce many excellent beers, and part of the GL seasonal ride is gaining some great bottles.. (Alchemy Hour, Wright Pils) and losing some great bottles.. (Holy Moses, Moondog ESB). And I still tip my cap to Locktender Lager.

    Edmund Fitzgerald all day long.

Alchemy Hour is killer too. In the fall, I will drink Oktoberfest by the gallon. Same with Christmas Ale once winter rolls around.
