Your Top 10 Beer Wants

    I'm sure this has been done before but it didn't appear during a quick search. Besides, new beers come out and tastes change...

    If you could get any 10 beers right now, what would they be? Distribution and seasonality are no issue.

    I'm going with 10 beers I've never had though I'm sure some of you will choose stuff you've already had.

    Here's my current Top 10 Wants (though I'm sure they'll change frequently) alphabetically by brewer:
    • Alpine Nelson
    • Bell's Hopslam
    • CCB Jai Alai
    • Founders Doom
    • HF Double Citra
    • Kern River Citra DIPA
    • RR PtY (though I'd happily accept Blind Pig)
    • Surly Wet
    • Heady Topper
    • FFF Zombie Dust
    I don't consider myself a hop head but now that I look at this list, I realize I may be in denial.

    Choosing just 10 was difficult. I just know someone's going to mention one that I'd want to switch one out with.

    Westvleteren 12
    3 Floyd's Bourbon Barrel Aged Vanilla Dark Lord
    Russian River Supplication
    Lawson's Double Sunshine IPA
    Bell's Hopslam
    Voodoo Black Magic Pappy Van Winkel
    Lost Abbey Cable Car
    Cigar City Hunahpu's
    pretty much any Stout from Toppling Goliath since they all sound brilliant

    All beers I've yet to have are mentioned above. I've had Heady Topper, Zombie Dust, Pliny the Elder, have 2 different vintages of Parabola on hand, had KBS, have Bourbon County (Stout, Coffee and Rye Cherry) on hand.
    There are loads more I'd love to have, but this would be my Top 10.

    A few of the brewers on my list are only a few hours away (Alpine & Kern River; RR is probably 7-8hrs from here) but availability is limited for their beers on my list. I'm sure I could try the rest pretty easily if I were a trader, but I'm WAY too lazy for that.

    4 of your 10 wants should be easy to get if you trade.


    Nelson is an on line buy.
    Jai Alai should be easy if you trade
    Same with Zombie Dust
    HT certinly isn't rare it's just local

    With CA stuff available to you should be able to get most things you want. Actually surprised so many CA wants, I've had Kern Citra, Blind Pig and everything I've put up above trading local stuff, and Surly stuff bought on line from france44 when in season. Your not trying hard enough :slight_smile:

    While the name Double Citra sounds juicy, i find it to be one of Hill Farmsteads dryer double IPAs. Personally, I'd substitute that with Double Galaxy or Abner.
