FFF Has (or had, as of Sunday) Rye Whiskey Aged Baume from Half Acre. That stuff is legit.

Fyi.. Strack Van Til's, a grocery store in Munster (google map the location), has alpha king and robert the bruce six packs priced at $9.49 each. Was in there yesterday. Not in the beer aisle. Off the end cap in the hygeine aisle. Go figure. Hide it from the masses.

So is there or is there not a 1-case per person limit on carryout?

I was in Chicago for Pearl Jam concert on Friday. Planned to hit FFF for first time, I have had ZD before. Left Ohare at 2pm, took 2 hours to get to FFF, never expected that kind of traffic.

Knew there was a good chance there would be no ZD in bottles, but checked tap list on web site on Wednesday and it was listed. Went to the to-go area, no ZD as expected. No big deal, will get some on tap. Sat down at bar. Someone who looked like a circus freak dropped a menu in front of me. ZD on the list. Next guy comes over, I say "Can I have Zombie Dust please". He barks at me " NO!". I think to myself, what the heck is he talking about. There is some awkward silence, then he says "We are out, look at board over there for beer we have". Take a minute or two, thought about the drive back to Chicago, the rudeness and walked out.

Incredibly anti-climatic trip there. I have read about the rudeness of some of the people there, go to experience it first hand. Big thumbs down for FFF.

They somehow knew you were a New Yorker (maybe from your ID or possibly a thick accent, idk) and wanted to make you feel at home. Cheers!

I have been to FFF a handful of times (probably 5 or 6) and my experiences have been, without exception, terrific. I've experienced nothing but nice employees and great service, and of course the beer and food are world-class. I read complaints on here all the time and I can't figure out if it's just contrarian sniping or if I'm just the luckiest customer out there.

I've never not had a great time there. If you're the sort of person who refers to other people as looking like "circus freaks" because they have tattoos and/or piercings (and let's be honest, it's not like they have face tattoos or dozens of visible piercings -- they're not that crazy looking), I think your attitude is already quite suspect.

I stand corrected! The rest of my point still stands (and I'm pretty sure you weren't disagreeing with the rest of my point).

    Cliff notes:

You: Can I get a ZD?
    Bartender: No, it's gone.
    You: *sobs uncontrollably, walks out*

Somehow you need to impart the very rude bartender into that post. No sobbing, headed to Revolution Brewing, had some very good beers, nice bartenders and made some new friends that night.

    Eff FFF !

Exactly this^^^ I've been going for years and never had a problem except for when they kicked me out of the pub at DLD last year cuz I was too drunk. That was completely my fault tho.

Unfortunately the other bartender was a rude asshole.

Actually the menu they handed me had Zombie Dust.

I expect some homerism sticking up for the rudeness of the the FFF staff, but that still doesnt change the fact that many people have experienced this un-customer friendly behavior.

Ruder than calling people you don't even know "circus freaks?"

    75%? You're quite the optimist.

I wish I could like this a million times.
