    Heading to SD....going to Stone.

What IPA's should I pickup, besides Pliny and Ruination?

Also, I'll be staying in Del Mar and Liberty Station, so any beer store idea's would be great!!

    Do these:

    • San Diego Brewing Co: Friar IPA
    • Stone: 15th Anniversary Black IPA

    Don't do these:

    • Alpine Beer Company: all of them, highly overrated and really not worth the trip.
    • Societe: they've been getting a ton of appreciation on this site, but they've yet to work out all the kinks in their system. Too hoppy.

The rest is all hype and California Dreamin'

Have fun and wear lots of sunscreen!

    cheers

You don't want Pliny the Elder either, too bitter... tho if they have PTY pick up a few bottles for the trade value.

PTE, is this easy to pickup?

I've had Heady and Surly Abrasive.

I gotta try PTE to compare.

To be honest, it's hard to find, but once you do, it's not that heavy.

    • Green Flash
    • Alesmith
    • Ballast Point
Make sure to check out El Cajon Brewing. I've only read great things about them in this forum.

Alpine isn't even over 2,000ft in elevation. Just BS dishonest marketing imho.

Can't believe you left out Russian River and Lagunitas. Sure it's a bit of a drive, but totally worth it.

Don't forget Pizza Port at any bottle shop. They always have fresh bottles.

Are you still doing a 50% markup or have you gone back to a more reasonable price structure like you had 3+ years ago? 10% off way too much is still way too much, fyi.

And whatever happened to getting a deal because things were sold illegally instead of getting ripped off for it? #you'redoingitwrong

This thread took an amusing direction, albeit one the OP did not probably intend.

Sea Trader is the best bottle shop in San Diego. Ivan is extremely knowledgeable and offers the best customer service around. As for his prices they are equal to every shop around town. He also doesn't hide beers in the back like many other bottle shops in this town. Also his prices are reasonable for the rare beers on his shelves.
