I made sure that I hit the guy with some more midwest shelf walez (Black Note, Hopslam, BCBS, FBS IIRC) as extras so the Cali traders wouldn't be too upset with me trading my beer for something I wanted.

i still haven't had black note, would people 1:1 BCBS for that? or 4:4?

Probably not. BCBS was pretty widely available and can still be had in some places, but a lot of people stocked up on a lot of Black Note and probably would trade a couple bottles without much problem. Its not hard to trade for, even with quality distro'd beer a little over $4$.

You might find someone, but people generally seem to keep their Black Notes close to them. I have offered 2:1 KBS for it before and got crickets. This is of course for the 12oz. The 75cl bottles are certainly harder to find, but I don't think its necessary to search these out specifically.

would you guys say vanilla is the same tier as cherry in terms of what people want? i always thought of it as Rare>Cherry>Vanilla>Bramble>Coffee>Regular thoughts?

    Rare> Large Gap> Vanilla> not as large but still large gap> Bramble> Cherry> 09 Bombers> Vintage regulars> regulars

Vanilla is in a totally different tier than the others. Very desirable and hard to land. Still seeking my first taste of vanilla.

I thought the beer was one of the most awful I've ever had. I gave two away for nothing, and gave my kitchen sink about 2/3 of another bottle. No charge. That beer was lost on me entirely.

I don't think the gap between Rare and Vanilla is large at all. In fact, if not for the sticker price of Rare, I think they'd be in the exact same ballpark regarding what they could land. Taste wise, I'd take a Vanilla over Rare all day every day.

As it sat in my basement I came to the realization that I have never enjoyed a single beer I have ever had with cherry in the name. Figured I may as well send it off to someone that will enjoy it. Even went less than $4$ but got some nice extras as well. Beer is for sharing not holding for ransom.

i wish more people had this attitude, i guess its all about having good timing as well. as much as i'd love to land a cherry rye it seems like i just need to get my hands on more things that can match up in value. or find a person that is willing to part with it for what i have to offer. maybe someone can point me in the direction to get something that is as good as cherry rye but isn't as pricey, perhaps something i haven't tried yet. im open to suggestions

Agreed! These FT posts have been driving me crazy with all these people trying to auction off there beers to who wants to pay most. I think its absurd to be asking much more than $4$ what you paid for a beer. Either trade your beer or not don't think you need to profit from it.

Seems like some states have been really doing this lately. Glad to be on the west coast as there seems to be alot of generous traders.

I had no idea Cherry Rye actually carried trade value, I thought it was all one big joke.

Looking at your gots I think you have what it takes to land Cherry Rye (ie HF beers) you just have to be willing to give them up.

09 bomber would score Cherry pretty easily, and probably Bramble too. It's arguably the best drinking of the entire lot right now.
