I am taking the plunge this weekend and the venue my fiancee and I are getting married at only serves the typical macros. I am picking up two different craft beers to serve at the cocktail hour and reception. I want something the guests may recognize and not too heavy (it's hot here). One beer will be Allagash White. Help me decide the second!

Any other suggestions of beers readily available in the NY/NJ area are welcome.

Eliot Ness should be available. I think it's pretty good, but should be easier to drink for the uninitiated

I voted for Victory, but think Troegs Sunshine Pils does it better.

Are you sure you shouldn't just tweet Peter King and stop wasting all our time?
votes for Yuengling, because I like it, not to stir the pot any more than I already have.

why not Brooklyn summer? Buddy of mine just had it at his wedding and it was a HIT - people eat up the summer beer vibe!

Sunshine Pils is better. Don't know what you like fresh Flower Power is great. Of the two, Prima.

God no! I loved Flower Power, but, unless all your guests are major hopheads, even Victory might be too much (I did vote of Victory of the two). Just head an Allagash White last night and Victory Pils tonight (along with the other three from the mixed pack--shared with family). AW is definitely good choice. But don't know what else is available in your area. But, if you're getting cases, what's wrong with Germans--Spaten, Weihenstephaner, Hacker Pschorr?? Surely one of their picks will appeal broadly and some should be keggable as well, if that's the choice.
