Well got off late. So I figured I would try out a couple of new Wee Heavys.

Now one dated 2010. Quite delicious. Cheers!

A bit too early there... Not even midnight on the west coast.

I got this yesterday and couldn't wait to get up and give it a try for breakfast. Sun just came up and birds are chirping, nice and cool at the forge this morning. I think it's gonna be a good day, damn, I enjoy my life.
Ain't got much but I like what I got.

Been some shitty nights at work lately, but today is my day off. I've been procrastinating a ton of work around the house, so needed me a little pick me up so why not grab probably my #1 favorite beer? Here's what's in my mug:

Do yourself a favor today and take a tip from this song and "Get yourself a nice cold beer"! Vid with a huge bottle share, can't go wrong!

I bought such a nice bauble from the bauble store and a beer too. That's Ithaca's own Bandwagon Brewpub's Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout. Cheers!

A great way to start my day off. Wow, amazing beer. I shouldn't have waited so long to try it.

Started the day having to "settle" for drinking at Cantillon after showing up at Drie Fonteinen only to find they were on a month-long holiday. Europeans, huh?! My buddy and I split a bottle of 50 degrees N 4 degrees E, a bottle of the Geuze, a bottle of Lou Pepe Kriek, a bottle of Lou Pepe Framboise, and a bottle of the 2012 Zwanze. Moved to Chez Moeder where I've had two glasses of the Faro and am now drinking Cuvee Saint Gilloise. A good day for Lambics in Belgium!

For my tastes... one of my Top 5 favorite BBA beers... Such a vanilla, coconut, and bourbon bomb!

Can't wait for the new batch in the next few months.

Finishing off this bottle of brett, ...er, Bitter Monk, and I just wanted to say how really great a beer this is...
The site has it pegged as a Belgian IPA, but the bottle says Double IPA with brettanomyces (I feel so learned addressing a fungus by name) - its marked enough by the brett to affect the perception of it - to me, it was almost like a saison (but high abv) - no doubt owing to the brett.

    Super good.

    Handsome.

    Cheers!

I have not had this in over 2 years and judging by it's current scarcity,
most other craft beer fans have not enjoyed it very often, either:

Today at Brewlab... Bottled my Raisin Saisin... or Raison Saison... whichever. Learned about maturation and conditioning. Was our last class before a two week hiatus, during which I will be traveling, so I brought a few of my treats from the states to share with the class in celebration. Opportunity struck when my instructor wanted to do a flavor profiling exercise...

Then we had a little cookout, Brewlab invited the oldest band in the world. They opened with Folsom Prison Blues and pulled this American flag from out of nowhere when told that a third of the class was from the good ol' US of A.

Now I'm back at the dorm booking last minute hostels and sipping on an offering from Wild Beer Co. Best I've had from them thus far. Cheers!
