Damn, the hype is strong with this release. Why not open a bottle and see if you like it before automatically making plans to buy more? (Not asking just to be snarky. I'm actually curious.)

Beer geeking 2013 style...the concept of owning the beer is more important than the beer actually being any good.

well when almanac #1 and #2 came out no one would even scoffed in its direction, but when people found out they were great it started to grow in popularity. so if 1,2, 3 and 4 are any indication, this one would atleast be worth checking out...

if 1, 2, 3 and 4 were aweful i doubt people would be after this one. thats the reason i want to try this one

I get why people are seeking this out. I'm going to buy one, hopefully today. I just find the concept of buying multiple bottles of something before you've even tried it kinda hilarious.

I get that. Makes perfect sense. But when you've got people who already have multiple bottles and don't intend to open any of them until they are sure they can get more, well that's where it sounds like the hype talking.

(Edit: AptosBeerDrinker got there first, succintly, while I was cleaning up the tags in my post.)

Dogpatch is delicious, right up there with #3 (my fave). I really want to try it on tap.

Yeah this one was more sour but i like the #3 and this one. I don't know why there was so much hype about #4. I personally think #3 was better. I wonder what pumpkin release will taste like. Gotta some some extra cash I might have to put my house on sale cuz i am going way over my budget lol.

#3 was definitely better. But #4 was harder to get which tipped the scales in its favor for some BAs. Makes no sense.

    Exactly. Rarity>Taste these days.

People do realize that these bottles are supposed to be consumed, right? They're not pokemon cards you nerds.

I sent both 3 and 4 as extras to another BA in Jersey. He had never heard of the brewery, let alone the sours. He tried both and really liked 3; absolutely loved 4. I believe it depends on a person's inclination towards either tropical zest or fruity nectar.

I think that's why I really liked both and my preference for one over the other depends on mood at that moment. Good quality sours. Odds are, Dogpatch would be the same.

$9.99 a piece. Odd, I would have figured the same price as the #3 on the shelf next to it but those were $10.99.

I need to try #3, I love citrus. I really liked #4 because I LOVE strawberries and stonefruit and the wine barrels really did well for the flavors. Tasted like a lighter summer version of Supplication to me. Dogpatch (yay, I live in Potrero so it counts, right?) was the same kind of lightness with a more tart flavor from the cherries.
