This may have been asked multiple times already, but I must have missed it. Any idea when the SF Toronado 26th Anniversary party will be held this year? I have to assume the 2nd weekend in August, likely the Saturday (August 10th). Anyone know for sure?

I believe it was mentioned in another thread that it's going to be held on the same weekend as Outside Lands.

That's what everyone is assuming based on past anniversary parties. But anything pertaining to Toronado tends to be unpredictable, other than that they don't take credit cards.

The last few have all been Saturdays with August 9 the earliest it has happened and August 15 the latest, so August 10 is very likely for this year.

that's turning out to be a busy beer weekend.....have my friend visiting from SoCal to go to Mikkeller SF opening on 9th....wouldn't be a big deal if his new gf wasn't allergic to Gluten. :-(
Stupid, but honest question.....are sours gluten free? :stuck_out_tongue:

Here's to hoping we find his gf something labeled Gluten Free so that she can enjoy herself just as much.
As much as I love beer, I want to make sure my guests are having just as good a time at an event as I am. Maybe bring a flask or something. Poor Gluten Free people don't know what they're missing!!!! Forget beer, I can't imagine no milk and cereal.....

    No....not serious. ^_-
But, I do want to make sure his gf enjoys herself.
Thanks again for the info. Back to the subject of the post. Anyone gotten official confirmation of the 10th yet?
Their website hasn't been updated since SF Beer Week and noone at the bar has any info either.
I tried messaging the e-mail on the website with no response as well.

Remember 5 years ago when nobody was going to die from eating some gluten?

Suddenly 90% of the population is allergic to bread.

You should get in line on the 24th, and cut to your heart's content.

They almost always have black raspberry mead and a cider or two for exactly this reason.

My friend is allergic to beer (we think the hops because she can still eat wheat products) and we always appreciate it when a bar has a couple of non-beer choices. She's an expert on cider now.

DO NOT GIVE HER SOURS BRO! Definitely still glutenous for sure. Just let her drink ciders and meads, she'll be safe that way. I've got a friend who comes along with me to have beers from time to time, and thats what she does to be safe.

I'm having visions of a Gremlins like scenario here.

I love how we just took Gremlins and mashed it up with a poor girls gluten allergy. Move over Z-Trip and DJ Shadow because we're about to smash the billboard charts!
