I am thinking of going tomorrow or Monday for lunch, and see what they have on cask.

The story behind Bière de Saison is this:

During test brews, we were going for a traditional, French Bière de Noel style farmhouse ale. A higher gravity Bière de garde. We brewed it with traditional ingredients and using German lager yeast strain. We loved the malt complexity, but we wanted a "something more". We decided to try a saison yeast to add aromatic comlexity and dry the beer a bit. We loved the results, and the name comes from the marriage of the French and Belgian farmhouse styles.

It is pretty darn good. It's getting bottled tomorrow. It will be released in a couple of weeks I believe.

P.S. the Biere de Saison is fantastic as well. August will be a pretty delicious month.

Popped a 13 tonight on its 1 year anniversary and like it better than I did a few months ago. But it got me to thinking, has there been any word on DR14?

My favorite of the 3 BB's I've had, 4-6, with 6 being my least favorite.

I ran into 4 BB5's at Kroger yesterday. It's really damn good. Might have to drink one of my 13's now.

A belgian strong right after a quad??? I loved 13 but a little more variety might be nice. But I'm sure I'll hunt down a sixer or two.

I'd love to see them do an imperial porter or stout with smoke, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, or peppers.

I guess people will always complain about what Saint Arnold does. They have released a ton of different styles this last year+ with Bishops Barrel, Icon, and just random other stuff.

How did BB5's end up at a Kroger? That was certainly a mistake!

Yep and one I'm very happy about. I've gone back a couple of more times hoping they put more out.

I don't get to frequent bars that often so the BB beers aren't ones I ever get a chance at. They are also a fraction of the batch size of a DR release. I haven't seen that they've done variations with the ingredients I've listed. I don't really see myself as complaining as much as just sharing what I'd like them to brew in the future. Regardless I can understand being IRS'd out if you get will the BB.
