    Bingo.

I'm going up again on Sunday and picking up my entire allotment at cost for a trading partner. I offered; he didn't ask.

If you're in the position where you have to ask, and then to berate people for not offering, you're doing something wrong.

Once again, where have I berated anyone?

I appologize that I don't have a well established trading partner far enough north in California to mule for me, but it's not as if I'm finding every user who made it up to RR and got bottles and PMing them insisting they go get me some.

Congrats to your partner, he's lucky too have an established trade relationship with you. I still fail to see why that means you need to keep attacking me and my offers because they don't meet your personal sensibilities of trades to make with people you don't know.

Didn't you and Brew33 just attack everyone else's offers in a blanket statement?

Simply put, I made an offer you could have taken, but you weren't interested. You made an offer I didn't take because I wasn't interested. The solution is to move on, not to counteroffer with "Dinner + pick up the beer for me." Most of us are ignoring those because our priority is for people we owe gratitude to. And even THAT is limited; all of us have jobs, hobbies, and families that come before beer runs.

As for berating, I found this berating:

As well as your statement about this site being "Beer ADVOCATE," implying most of us aren't advocates (whatever that means). That kind of statement and attitude is plain fucking rude.

You probably should have, given how entitled people are, someone like you offering someone in Cali a meal, they think a quick bite at RR, not steak dinner. That's the flaw in your reasoning though...I repeat, most Cali BAs are broke from this release. Offer something they want and already drive hours willingly to get for themselves. In other words offer a freaking beer geek the beer he's buying for you. My guy gladly drove and got more beat for me because he wanted more beat and couldn't afford it anymore. Since I was paying for his bottles from our deal, he gladly drove without charging me for gas and got me some. If you're an objective, reasonable guy and can see the big picture, this should've been obvious. Who the hell gets in a car for 3+ hours just for a steak dinner? Not me and I'm a pretty hardcore foodie.

Well, I eat at RR a bunch, and it's not that expensive. The beer there is almost always more than the food, especially if you have a chilled beat and a small pizza.

Yeah, I'm not usually one to worry about money, but I actually decided not to go back up to RR when I had a reasonable chance to do so (reasonable here is <1 hour each way instead of the ~2 it normally is for me) because holy shit I have spent so much on beat.

One thing that people are completely discounting, too, is that when you ask someone to mule for you you're changing the nature of the game. I've talked about this before, usually in eBay threads, but it's an established psychological principle that people treat transactions that involve money differently from those that don't, even when you're talking about exchanging goods. If you bring a bottle of $50 wine (or beer!) to your friend's dinner party then you're a good friend, if you give them $50 you're insane. So as soon as you ask for a mule you're trading money instead of favors, and suddenly different rules apply. That's why muling offers are met so poorly (and that's why I think so many people have issues with eBay, but that's another thing).

Yea, I know all too well you guys are fucking B-R-O-K-E from this release. It hasn't been released in a long time, its expensive and you guys love it and don't know when it'll come out again. All you sour lovers bought as much as your wallets could handle. If I lived near RR I would've blown my entire budget on it and the trading would've had to wait till my wallet came out of its comma.

I don't think people quite get that its a resources issue as well as a people value their time issue. I haven't seen anyone make a reasonable offer for mulling like mine unless they all got deleted before I saw them. If they did though, they're the ones that got taken care of and aren't bitching and asking why won't you Cali BAs go get me some Beat?!?!?!?!?!

Yeah, exactly--I had one beatmuling request from a trading partner that I thought was very fair except that the whole idea made me feel icky. We worked it out and he has some beat, and I feel a lot better making it a trade for beer.

I'm getting sick and tired of this Beatification talk. The beer is not as easy to get as MOST of you guys think. If you offer isn't getting answered, then your beer either sucks, or you aren't offering enough. Muling takes a lot of time, so the mules should be well compensated. I turned down 3 offers to go because it wasn't enough for me to go.

If you can't get your 6 bottles, then be happy with your two dammit. It blows how much I muled and just sent away plenty of bottles to friends for surprise boxes. I didn't demand an arm and a leg (yet) for my BEATS, and I sure as hell will hold on tight to my very very few remaining bottles either to drink, or trade for a great offer. I have handed off cases of Beat already for good trades with friends, or to those who paid for a trip to the brewery, and if you weren't one of my recipients, too bad.

You guys who say we are being stingy or not trading fair, perhaps you guys should stop asking for cases of the stuff. Be happy with a bottle.

    lol, fair enough.

Garden State came out at the right time when I was in high school and I really dug it at the time and the soundtrack was just bad ass.

    * Also, I myself have left a gas station with the nozzle still hanging from my car. Made it fairly far before I noticed it too. People kept honking at me and I was like WTF!?

After reading through this it appears to me that people who have access are probably flat out tired of being asked about trading it at this point. I picked a hell of a time to start appreciating sours. No way in hell I'm putting up an ISO: at this point.

this thread is about a month old... beatification was released six weeks ago. if i estimate correctly, most people have cycled past their credit card bill from the release / initial trades, and are probably willing to go a second round now.

despite what some nonsense above would have you believe, beatification has been absurdly easy to trade for, just not in quantity (6-12 like people are asking). i bought 6 on release day, 6 the day after, and traded for another 3 through this forum (alpine).

it's not a wale, it's not hard to get... nor is it anchor porter. if you offer something that people would comparably drive x hours to get (and probably not even that), you'll be fine. but i have seriously enjoyed the past six weeks of " go pick it up for me bro " and the angry pushback.

Hell, I'd be happy with just one bottle. Not sure that there is anything out currently in my market that would land one for me. I guess I'll never know unless I try.
