It is #18 on this list, right below BCBS. Given the tough competition in this style, I'd say that's pretty damn good.
I'd also love to try it but I'm not holding my breath.

    Matter of opinion and preference.

If you prefer a boozier, more viscous stout, Bourbon County wins.
    Like coffee? KBS wins
Black Note is smoother and easier to drink than many -bal stouts.

All great beers but it comes down to what you are looking for.

I only had a bottle of the most recent release. It was a fresh bottle and I thought it was great. It's not the biggest BA stout but it was delicious for sure. I thought it was much better than Silva Stout but worse than BA Blackout.

I wish I could answer that question. I had it on draft and high ABV BA stouts were not my thing then. It was way too boozy for me - but then again my first BCBS was even worse. Now my 2012 BCBS is drinking awesome and I wish I could have obtained some bottles. Not sure they ever made it here.

One of my very favorite BA stouts. So decadent, rich and creamy. Its up there with BCBS and beats the vast majority of BA stouts I've ever had.

I have had multiple 750s and 12oz. Although BN and BCBS are my two favorite BARIS, I find that BN is inconsistent. Some taste more like expedition BA, and some taste more like double cream stout BA (my fav). I know that it is a blend, but the bottles are all over the map. Has anyone else found BN to be inconsistent?

    Exactly this.

We had a stout tasting night a couple months ago that featured KBS, Dark Lord, Black Note, Parabola, and Bourbon County among some non-"elite" options. Black Note was the winner of the 5. It's smoothness thanks to the Double Cream Stout influence is noticeable. And delicious.

That being said, BCBS with a couple years on it stacks up nicely in terms of smoothness.

This. Personally for me there is nothing better than a perfectly crafted BA coffee IS. BCBCS is the best in this department bar none. KBS is a little different cause its coffee and chocolate, and is equally tasty. It's interesting cause while I put BCBS below all of these, the BCS variants are some of the finest stouts out there.

So basically if you're an additives person like I am, you're gonna look at things like KBS, Huna, CBS, BCS variants, as the best. If you want a stout in bourbon barrels straight up, black note is gonna be smoother and more palatable than BCBS, but the BCBS is gonna have the stronger flavors, bigger body, viscous mouthfeel, and boozy bourbon flavor.

Great beer. Smooth, rich, but not heavy or boozy. Parabola is the closest comparison (but Parabola is better).

Black Note is better than KBS imo. Parabola and Black Note are my 2 top stouts followed by KBS. It is the smoothest and most balanced of them all I think.

I really enjoyed Black Note. At this point I probably put it slightly behind Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th and BA Blackout Stout, even with Parabola, and better than KBS and BCBS.
