Missing Trader: Thickfreakness

Does anyone know anything else on this topic? This guy won't answer me either and more than enough time has passed.

 

Really like he's busy for 3 months? Even if he comes thru why isn't he a bad trader? 3 months is ridiculous no matter how long he's been on BA, and maybe it's worse in a way, he knows better and doesn't give a shit. I've never had any trade take more than a week to ship and even then there was communication. Put him on the shit list.

 

With the "ISO:thickfreakness" theme of this thread I'm suprised and somewhat let down nobody made a chubbychaser joke.

Love the guys vouching him him and telling the OP top relax, it wasn't their beer or his shipping costs the guy took a picture of it up then showing it off as his haul. It was a "haul", and it's free because he's a douche and didn't ship back. 3 Months as in 3, it's clear he doesn't give two shits about the OP or the fact he's out, and has tried to contact him. It's clear to me that one day he just says fuck it, if he gets a big enough haul or talks someone into a whale he'll just be gone never to be head from again, hell maybe this is that time. Absolutely inexcusable not to make contact, no excuse not to ship what he promised. IMO the OP waited way too long to out the asshole, 1 month is too long, way too long when the guy goes silent. Even if the OP eventually get his stuff this guy should be on the official no trade list, just cut him off. Would anyone here saying cut him a break want to trade with him? No, unless he ships first, even then he should be cut off, this shit is based on trust and he clearly broke that. He doesn't deserve the opportunity to bilk another BA guy.

 

What thread are you reading? The only person vouching for him in here is Bad_Trader.

 

Go back & read again. Perhaps vouching isn't the best word, but a member is assuring everyone this guy (who is evidently serially late) will come through.

I'm not new here & I think he's trying to screw someone.

 

What about cavedave? I'm kind of surprised how much leeway is being given to a guy who hasn't shipped his end of the trade in almost 3 months.

 

I traded with him last year and while i do recall him being a little slow to ship it wasn't months late. Hope he comes through and doesn't take the Douche road.

I never said I knew the guy but that I didn't believe he was purposely screwing anybody due to his long and active time as a member here.

I do worry something happened to him, but it does seem obvious now it isn't merely tardiness.

Fair enough, though I don't think he's saying "all is good, this guy will come through", so much as "this is a really odd guy to be pulling bad trading shenanigans". Which, to a point, I agree - he has a lot vested in this site. And things do happen to people. I mean, hopefully I'm old and crusty and still trading beers, but I can already see somebody one day way in the future posting "yeah that cbeer88, he may have 1000 trades under his belt, but I haven't heard from that asshole in 2 months so he's trying to screw me!".

All of that said, given the time between the trade and when he went inactive on BA, I don't think much happened here other than "life". The guy is definitely overdue and belongs on the bad trader list at least until he explains himself and sends the box.

 

Agreed. I tried to give him more time to come back as I've spoken to him in the past and didn't think this was like him but I mean as of now... He's a bad trader.

 

At the very least the guy could explain his situation. Being silent is a lot different than saying tough times are happening and that you won't be shipping for a few months.

 

Woowww! How cool is that. Dave is a generous guy. And he and I have shared a beer, ( or 2? haha) so I know he is a really nice man IRL .

Still waiting to finish up something with him we started in 2011.... I took a while to ship first, (had a newborn etc.) but kept all parties involved up to date weekly...

Heck the other BA involved in the trade didn't get it to me until April of this year, and I was just glad we could finish it up...

I have sent multiple BM's sine JUNE of 2012 with pleasant responses of the likes of 'sorry', 'need to find a box' 'wrapped and ready' he even sent a picture (now deleted from the thread) of some of the goodies I could expect.

Last contact I had back from him was APRIL 2013...

I have been very patient, even sent him a message to the effect "at least tell me this is dead so I don't bother thinking about it anymore"

Want to just let this go but its the principal...
